The most important thing is that THIS guitar has a Mahogany body with a maple top, just as an original Gibson Les Paul. The Epiphone copies do NOT have this anymore.
This is by far the best choise for anyone who want a Gibson Les Paul but can??t afford it. Pay an extra bucks and change the pickups. If you don??t know what you want but are looking for the Gibson sound, choose Gibson 57 Classic. If you want more bit, choose Gibson 57 Classic Plus (Vintage sound with bite)!
Even if you change pickups, you??ll get a great guitar for a reasonable price and still have the money to do other things..

I play hard rock/metall. Kind old school like Judas Priest, Black Sabbath. Heavier stuff.
I have a modified Marshall JCM 800 (model 2203) and to get more sustain without distorting the tone i use a Ibanez compressor.
The guitar has a Les Paul-ish kind of sound, as being built like one, wood-wise...
You can use this guitar for jazz, rock, hard rock/metall. Anything really.
I like the fact that it??s a mahogany body/maple top but is a lot lighter than a Gibson Les Paul

The only thing that i don??t like is Grover tuners. The should do the work but they feel i kind of sloppy. Their not precise if you know what i mean.
Everything else is top nodge!!

I??ve been playing for more than 25 years.
This is a guitar that should cost a lot more, but it doesn??t. By this, invest in a new set of pickups and it will be in the same league as the Les Paul Standard to at least 80-90%.
Soundwise it sounds just as good as my Gibson Les Paul.
