Made in Taiwan, nylon-string electric. Body is chambered ash, neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard. B-Band active electronics, under the saddle. Volume and tone knob. Nice finish (mine's an "amberburst" color). Came with nothing but an allen wrench for the truss rod and a 1/4" plug/cord. I bought a Coffin Case seperately, which fits like a glove.

Bought it to be a nylon sting electric, primarily to play out, some recording. It does not disappoint. It isn't a Ramirez or Cordoba - it is what it is. Very versatile. I run it directly into a Marshall acoustic amp for solo; line out of the Marshall to the board for work in the band. Can get a useful nylon string sound, good chording up the neck, nice balance between strings. Its not a Martin D-28 or a Ramirez. But I give it a 10 because its exactly what I was looking for. By the way its a great practice guitar, because it has very little sound unplugged.

First guitar I ever got out of the box. Nice set-up - tuned it up and started playing. A little stiff at first but loosened up nicely. Everything appears tight - nice and solid and straight. Necks a little chunky which feels great to me. Action is fine, a couple frets could have been dressed better, No problems at all.

Well it better withstand live playing - thats why its here. Actually, I think its pretty solid, strap buttons solid, good finish. Its already been gigged with both solo and band and fit the bill nicely. Should last forever given proper care. And unlike everyone else, I regularly gig without a safety net (backup): in a band context I've got 2 more gutiars with me anyway, so not an issue.

Player for over 30 years. My fav guitars are Guilds (D50, D55, Bluesbird), hands down. But I got a great buy on this as a closeout. Its a great little instrument, well worth the dollars, and gives me the sound dynamics I was looking for. I compared it to a bunch of different guitars - it took me forever to make up my mind on which way I wanted to go. So I tried out Cordoba FCWE, Gibson Chet, Ramirez 2cwe, Rick Turner Renaissance, Godin multiac, Takamine EC132SC and even a couple low-end jazz boxes (Aslin Dane, Epi). I couldn't justify the expense of most of those nylon strings (the Turner guitar was especially sweet though). Picked this Yamaha up, started playing, kept playing, felt great and the price - a steal. I'd buy it again if stolen if I could find it - and if I was rich I'd look at the Guild Paloma. I'd give it a 7 or 8 at full price - at this price level its gotta be a 9 - nothing compares.
