Small bodied cutaway with stereo wood sensor/piezo pickup system.
Light Tobacco sunburst finish. Flawless build quality.
Solid spruce top, solid sycamore body, ebony fretboard.
As good a build standard as they get and believe me I've played just about everything out there!!!!

I bought this guitar about 20 years ago. I believe they are no longer availiable now. I've looked at current models which are quite good but not a patch on the old model 20.
As this guitar has matured the small guitar boxiness has dissappeared giving rise to an amazing full dry open sound with a bass response that belies its sze.
I use also a Cort custom shop NTL cut/a/way and a Godin multiac. All
of these are wofld class onstruments. The APX 20 is as good as it gets even compared to 5 and 7 series Taylors.

I've had this refretted well it is 20 years old now.
Action at 12th fret at the wood is 2mm, nice and low, finger touch
with ease. No buzz at all!!!!!!
Finish work on the APX 20 is as good as can be produced!!!!!

I've seen a white one on my travels with Cherry Blossom
all down the fret board. The most beautiful guitar I've ever seen.
I just couldn't afford it at the time.
I have regretted this ever since!!!!

I luckily bought this guitar a couple ago from a store locally. My 1st new guitar was a Harmony ordered from the Sears catalog;
Finally after owning 15 or more different acoustics over the years ~ ovation,takamine, martin, gibson, alvarez yairi, alvarez, an original
us washburn, and most recently John Lennon Epiphone signature. My 1st new guitar was a Harmony ordered from the Sears catalog;
THIS by far takes the award. It's sterio and mono ..and excellent eq & you can change the center of the eq. It's has the 1/4 inch plug out jack dual purpose (sterio/mono out}. It also has the 3 pin out jack as well..for direct to the board or pa.
The high grain (perfil sp?) is an amber translucent and 3-d ~ looking in direct light. The greatest guitar I've ever owned and played.
it feels like a les paul but very light andthe neck is awesome..
Rare guitar out there..I got it with the case and all papers.
It sound like well an acoustic electric should sound warm and can handle an attack. I'm playing it through my Fender 50 Jr, acoustic amp.
I really don't care what it's worth..re-sellers retailers at a guitar show wouldn't give ya' more than $ 700.00. A collectors classic? NOT Yet....Players really enjoy playing my guitar and they say it stands shoulders any acoustic exotic pro~shop hyped vintage magazine rag/mag.
I love my guitar...Yamaha has best cutomer service dept.
Yamaha sent me some e-mail information an later set me a whole legal size letter with thanks for buying the guitar great peel off yamaha logo patches and over 25 yamaha picks all great hot colors and different gauges...
Yamaha has me as customer.. any other tales..

ps..
Help me find
The only this I'm looking for is an original Yamaha catalog which featured this APX20c hybrid..guitar.
Please contact me any of any Yamaha dealers or colllectors of old catalogs or mags. I'd settle for a color copy.
Best to you all..Yamaha players.
John..
