Black finish with white pickguard. S/S/H configuration on the factory pickups. standard tremelo 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, 5 way selector switch, standard tuners. Fast neck with 22 medium height frets, and a beautiful finish all over very well made.
Sound
:8
I play mostly classic rock and blues with a little bit of crunch/od although I will occasionally play clean with some delay/reverb effects. My previous guitar was a Washburn tour 24 "telecaster"(very heavy and it had a really nice tone - although I didn't like the way it played. I have played through a Crate, Line 6 and most recently a Behringer VTone Gmx210 which is very nice for under $200.
I had read a lot about the Pacifica and felt it would be a good alternative to a Fender (at half the cost). I paid $100 for this guitar on ebay so I didn't expect much especially since I was replacing a $600 Washburn. Boy, was I impressed. It needed some tweaking after I received it (strings replaced, intonation, string height etc). Once this was done I was off to the races.
I have never been a strat fan from the standpoint of the tone. I usually feel they are thin and noisy (even the Fenders I have played - except for a Japanese Fender which I think are excellent guitars) anyway, this guitar sounded pretty good right off the bat. I consider single coils to be useless to my playing in the neck and mid position - so I ripped them out. I then replaced the humbucker with an overwound GFS humbucker. This was an upgrade but still not anywhere close to my Agile Les Paul copy with P90's (shielded of course as they are very loud). I broke down recently and purchased a Bill Lawrence L500 (think early Dimebag). I had heard this was a good pickup. Wow, my Pacifica screams. I can play any style and the output is amazing. Clean, Crisp, and solid. I grew up in the 80's so the single humbucker with only a volume knob is what I like (think Kramer and early Jackson). I also installed a coil tap to give me a single coil sound which I actually have grown to like for some really clean stuff. If I want a different sound I use a pedal or a model on my amp. I am not into too many sounds from the guitar itself. I like to find a sound and stay with it. Maybe this is a narrow minded approach but it works for me.
At any rate, even without all my tweaking, this was a better than average guitar (better than most Fenders in my opinion) and for a lot less money. However, If you can buy one cheap go out and get a really nice humbucker (Bill Lawrence L500 or a really nice Duncan). You won't regret it. I am rating the sound as an 8 but with the Bill Lawrence, I have to give it a 10.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Again, I bought this used so the set up was needed but I can assume it was ok out of the box. This is a really nice guitar.
Reliability/Durability
:9
Well, here we go. Since I bought this thing so cheap I had a little money left over. I ripped out the pickups, the tone pot and knob, the selector switch, the volume knob and pot and replaced them all with newer hardware. Why? Because I could. I am a tinkerer. It wasn't that the hardware sucked it was just that it was bland. Very generic Fender Strat kind of boring. I have a silver knobby volume knob on my coil tap, a Bill Lawrence pickup which is black and contrasts against the white pickguard, and I placed stickers on it to cover up the holes where the missing hardware is. I also replaced the strap buttons with aftermarket locking type buttons. I had to fill the holes with some toothpick strips to keep the new screws from coming loose (I also added wood glue before screwing them in - so they won't go anywhere).
I'll say this, if I didn't change anything it would be a decent guitar. I left all the electronics other than what I replaced. I haven't had any issues with the jack plate like others have. I have gigged 2 times with this guitar. It stays in tune for the most part and it sounds friggin' awesome.
Is it reliable - Yes! Is it durable - Yes (i've banged it a few times).

I have been playing guitar off and on for about 25 years. I have played a few different guitars. My Washburn was with me for 20 years (it was my second guitar ever). My first guitar was a Hagstrom Strat copy (I wish I still had it as it is a classic now - although it was a piece of #$%^ when I had it).
I now play this Pacifica and an Agile Les Paul copy (a very different guitar but again an inexpensive but impressive guitar. My amp as mentioned above is a Behringer Vtone gmx 210. I really like this amp although I am getting sick of modeling amps. I long for my old Marshall practice amp from my early days. Anyway, I don't play gigs too much. I have a friend in a band and he and I will jam occasionally. Guitar is more of a hobby to me but I am playing more and more lately.
After all the tweaking I have done to this guitar I would probably cry if it was taken from me. I really have grown to love it. I am looking at a Roland Cube amp and possibly looking to get a Clapton Crossroads pedal. We'll see. Otherwise, this is a great little guitar that both beginners and seasoned professionals will love playing.

I have been playing for 25 years and went through 30 guitars even gibsons !!These guitars a like my kids to me THEY ARE PRICELESS TO ME.. I bought the blonde new in dec 2000 $235.00 and fell in love with her !! The best damn playing versatile guitar that was ever made !In my opinion... I play jazz-blues fusion mainly and even metal it can do it ALL !!After all could Michael lee Firkins ,Chuck Loeb, Ross Bolton, and too many more to mention BE WRONG??? .... At the time I had an american lefty strat by the way I no longer have the fender ..Once I realised what a gem of a Yammy I owned I decided to purchase another come to find out they no longer make leftys in the states so I found Blackie on ebay in perfect condition for $165.00!!I fought to get it but I stole it considering what blonde cost ...Blonde sounds abit warmer than blackie must be the alder body

Both guitars are setup identically its like they came out of the same mold, uniformity action fit and finnish perfect !!hardware perfect..

25 years playing it was just perfect...More than met any of my expectations if they were lost or stolen I would beat the thief to a pulp and threaten to cut his fingers off!! If I couldnt find the guitars I probably would sit down cry then immediately start looking for their exact replacements...No fenders or schecter, Ibanez charval, even zion, parker?? even begin to compare to these and I just want every one to know I am not in any way hooked up with yamaha or a spokesperson just a common player with a love for great guitars
If there was only one wish I had for these gems would be more color selections like birdseye maple tops sunbursts reds greens with gold hardware I wouldnt sneeze about paying extra for it

The sound it awesome, have yet to find something I cannot get the right sound for. Set up: Guitar->Dunlop Original Wah->Boss Hi-Band Flanger->Boss Super Octave->Boss Digital Delay(DD5)->Boss Super Chorus->Amp. I like the single coil sound, I play mostly jazz and blues and funk, and then humbucker just gives the right amount of extra kick for solos and more agressive passages.

Alder body, maple neck w/rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, S/S/H generic pickups, standard tremolo. Standard no-name Yamaha hardware is OK, stays in tune VERY well. Thin natural finish on the body, really looks nice. I think it was made in Taiwan, 2001.
Have tested a large variety of cheaper (Under $600.00) guitars including Fender, Squire, Ibanez, etc., etc... This guitar blows them all out of the water.
Sound
:8
This guitar is suitable for all styles of music. Despite the cheap-ass pickups you can get a variety of tones from this guitar. Currently I'm using this guitar with a Zoom Fire-30 amp and it does sound great. As soon as I can afford a Fender Cybertwin I'm gonna get 1, I'm sure I will be amazed. The sound is full and balanced despite the cheap hardware/pickups. For what I paid (<$300.00 Can.)I am extremely pleased ( I read every review On Harmony-Central again and again before trying and buying this guitar).
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
Machine perfect, no complaints at all. The neck and the action are amazing, beautiful, FAST, low action, no buzzes anywhere. Plays silky smoooth. I don't know if it was set-up at the store or not. I give it a 10 for the money. I tested $1200.00 Fender Strats and was more impressed by this Yammy.
Reliability/Durability

I've beeen jamming for 3 months on this guitar with no problems but time will tell. I'm going to start replacing hardware as I can afford it. The 1st will be Straplocks followed by pickups (I'd love all Bill Lawrence singles/electronics), locking machineheads and maybe a Wilkinson n/l tremelo. I play pretty hard and its hard to get out of tune. I can depend on this guitar as long as I don't break a string (but that's my fault), I don't need a backup but if I did I'd buy another PAC 112L no problem. I think it'd be kinda like cheating to use another guitar, I love this guitar, for better, for worse. You all should know the story about STEVIE and his 1st wife.

If someone stole this guitar and I caught them I'd beat them unmercifully with a bat, then I'd piss on them and leave'em in a snowbank. I would buy this guitar again but I'm sure I wouldn't get my baby back. Every guitar IS unique, It's all about what you give to the guitar, if you love playing it will give back more than you'd ever expect.
Peace out Rabbits...

a 2000 model, made in korea, 22 frets, solid top black, volume, tone, 5-way pickup selector, passive yamaha stock pickups (s/s/h), rosewood fingerboard, alder body (i guess), strat style, with tremolo that looks like a childs, but plays really well (i'll come to that), fenderish neck (actually i have never played any left handed fenders, so i don't know, but it's thiker and narrower than my ibanez's rg470l-s)
Sound
:8
now, you would not expect to get exactly the sound you want from a $250 gutar, yould you? so the pickups need to be changed eventually, but since it is my backup guitar (main axe is ibanez rg470l, with custom humbucker on the bridge side and soon with schaller floyd) it does quite well for the nu-metal i play at stages. but at home i play mainly rock and blues and fot this it's nearly perfect, it sounds creat thtough everything (marshall vs232, fender princeton chorus, boss gt5, and akg wireless are the things i use between my and my sound)
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
i have NEVER had to tighten any screws or lower the action or do anything else to tune the thing :) so the setup is great (but it was probably made at my local guitar shop). frets were just fine. but the pots are too easy going so i tend to roll the volume down from times to times when i get carried away (and i do get carried away :) ) but that just a matter of taste.
Reliability/Durability
:10
after 2 years and 100000 people watchng me play i'm telling you, this ain't no toy, this is the real deal, though labelled beginner guitar and priced below $300, there is nothing amateurish in it (exept the pickups). even the toy looking tremolo has stood the test of time and beating (i don't just stand and play, i run around, jump, crouch, etc. etc. thanks to the akg wireless, you should get on if you can), so i have dropped it about two times, and nothing has gone wrong yet. and probably won't

I use a Marshall MG80RCD and a digitech RP200 and this guitar rocks! This guitar is a good all rounder and is very quiet, i get no feedback at all! This guitar was designed to give the widest variety of sounds for a novice/amateur guitarist and that's exactly what it does. I play mainly Metallica but I can easily get some nice clean sounds out of it! For the price the sounds are amazing!! I'll eventually replace the pickups but they are fine for the moment.
Action, Fit, & Finish

When it arrived all i had to do was adjust the action and it was perfect! Everything works great, for this sort of money the finish is outstandingly good. This guitar looks like it should cost at least $600 and it plays like $600.

Will definitely withstand live playing, it will last for years, decades even!! A very dependable guitar, no reason for a backup at gigs. I bashed it quite hard against my wall and there wasn't even a dent!

I've been playing a year and also own a Marshall MG80RCD and Digitech RP200. If it were stolen I would definitely buy another cos it's SO cheap for this sort of quality!! I absolutely love the finish (Yellow Natural Satin)and the neck is a gorgeous deep maple finish, my friends thought it looked light a $600 guitar at least!! Because i'm left handed i can't try them out in the shop so i had to go by reviews (it was described as the best guitar under $300!!) and i wasn't disappointed! I'd reccommend this guitar to novice/amateur players.

I bought this guitar about 2 years ago. The guitar has a very fast 22 fret rosewood neck. The controls are 1 tone and 1 volume which I prefer. The pickup config. is H-S-S. The body is a really pretty alder wood w/ natural finish not flashy but it isn't shabby. The bridge is a old style fulcrum but it stays in tune.
Sound
:9
I play everything from chicken pickin country to Steve Vai to Metallica. This guitar keeps up and is extremely adaptable. I am running this guitar through a Zoom 3030 processor into a Fender stage lead amp. This guitar is quieter than my American standard stratacastor by a ways the humbucker does just that it doesn't hum. This guitars strength is its crisp tone when playing any style leads and it doesn't mud up when playing chords. The only down side to this guitar it can feedback at relatively low volumes. But role back the tone and it can be controled.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I love to tinker with my axes and I immediately disassembled the guitar when I got it home first thing. I was looking for flaws and found none. A very well built instrument. Robot like in uniformity. I put the guitar back together and haven't turned a screw on it sense. Also I didn't have to adjust squat it was set-up great off the rack. The frets were a little rough at first but within a week were played smooth.

This guitar has withstood much from me. I don't stand and play I move baby. I am abusive to my instruments at times and with dive bombs and neck bends this guitar has really held up well. It has a few dings but the natural finish really keeps them from showing like on a painted instrument. I would use it without a backup and this is coming from a guitar-a-holic who never goes without a spare.

I play a lot on high volume. But I have the guitar and the sound very much under control with the genuine pickups. For the money I paid it's a very nice sound. The single coils are much better and have more output than, for example, the mexican strat.

I play alternative style of music and it works DAMN well for me, I played a left-handed fender strat and it sucked hard (the hell w/Fender) it plays anythinf from the Smashing Pumpkins, Silverchair, Offspring, Foo Fighters, Bush (the best bush sound), etc.
I use the a Frontman 25R and it's the best damn amp you can buy, it's loud as hell, I put at 1 or .5 (goes up to 10) throught a BOSS ME-30 (which is amazing) and it's loud as one could think of, awesome sound! It has a rich full sound with the humbucker (now a Duncan Distortion) and the pickups (middle=stock, neck =Alnico 2 Pro Staggrd.), just the best combo you can have! All the sounds you could think, some spaced-out Mother f**kin sounds that you could not believe Likes = all damnit

Well, it definately doesn't suit my style (METAL) but it's a GREAT beginner guitar. I've had it for the past 3 years, (since I've started) and so far, it's done everything I've asked it for. I'me looking into a new guitar (because I need new things), but if you're a beginner, and don't know what direction you're heading in.. it's GREAT to start off with. The humbuckers deliver a great tone, very thin loud tone. The single coil pickups sound really nice and warm, especially the one in the neck position. I'm using this with a beckemer GC-100R and I can get a REALLY HEAVY distortion, or a light distortion (blues) I can get a punk sound (crisp loud distortion) and a nice lead guitar sound. Not very good on sustain, actually, there's rally no sustain.... but that comes with price. I'm giving this a high rating ..... because the sound is GOOD for the money, and the other guitars competing with it.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
well, my humbucker is pretty loose and flimsy... and the middle pickup gets in the way sometimes..... I don't really think about it. The 22nd fret isn't the most pleasent thing to reach... it kinda gives you a bad perception of bolt-ons. But all in all, the neck feels good and is the perfect contour, the fingerboard is great ....
ALso, the bridge is a really low quality bridge... and I tend to break my LOW E alot... but I've had it for threee years and I gig with it, and I probably have to set it up at a store, but I'm too lazy.
Don't let the bad news scare you.... because this is a good guitar.
Reliability/Durability

YES! This guitar can withstand live playing, can be beaten. I've dropped it a few times, still plays great. The hardware ... like I said above, don't htink it'll last, but this is a beginner guitar. If you're spending this much money, don't expect it to last a lifetime! Maybe 5 yrs... then save up for another one. When I get my new guitar, this will definately be my backup. I can overall depend on it, but in MY GUITAR's current situation, it's very unreliable. But it's easy to fix, and I just have to replace one little peice. But hey, I've played infront of alot of people, and it's survived the night.... so this is a great guitar for reliability/durability (for the price). I'm also VERY aggressive with it (heavy metal), so keep that in mind also.

I've been playing for 3 yrs now. I own a Beckemer 100 watt GR-100R solid state amp (great), cry baby wah wah, hyper metal, and borrowing a chorus, delay/reverb and metal zone. I've compared this guitar to other makes at the same price, and they don't even come CLOSE to the quality, parts, sound, playability, durability, etc etc etc. I'm very critical and have VERY high standards (already!). The fender squiers, or any other strat copy/guitar don't even compare to the quality of this one (for its price). This guitar is great for its value and could be sold for even more! Honestly, don't be turned off that it's not a fender/gibson... name doens't relaly matter. Try this guitar for yourself.... you'll see.
