This guitar was made around 95, but it is the same as the new ones. It has 22 frets. It has a S/S/H configuration, with a volume and tone knob. It has a natural, unbuffed sunburst.

When I got this guitar, I had only played for a year, so I thought it sounded good. Recently, after my newer guitar broke, I was forced to play it again. It has a really twangy sound, it's really bright. I thing that the pickups are wound up weird, because they all have different volumes. I pumped up the bass on my Crate GX65 combo, and got a little bit more bottom end, but it still can't get a good punk rock or hard rock sounds. It's made for country.

Since this guitar was made somewhere in Asia, it is alot better than most student guitars, namely the mexican ones, but it was surprisingly well set up. The pickups are wound weird, but most beginners can't tell the difference.

It has held up pretty good for it's price. The finish still looks the same. I wouldn't use this at a gig without backup, unless I replaced the pickups with some better versions. The strap cord is pretty loose, and the angle is weird, so I would probably smash a toe or two dropping the damn thing.

I've been playing for almost 4 years, and this guitar has it's advantages over my Samick Radio Ten. The Samick wasn't set up well, it took alot of tweaking. The Yamaha actually was stolen by another member of my old band, or at least borrowed for too long. If anything, this guitar is perfect for a beginner, a much better choice than any Squier guitar, but if you have the moola, I would get an Epiphone guitar. Epiphone makes a Strat copy similar to this, but superior. Hi mom.

1997 solid body. Pretty generic strat clone. Single coils at neck & middle. Humbucker at bridge.

My style - blues/rock and 'classic' rock - is very well served by this axe. The neck pickup is warm, the middle pickup has great clarity and the bridge humbucker screams nicely. It gets a great strat cluck in the in-between pickup selector positions. (Of course, the single-coils are noisy - it's the nature of the beast.) It's easy to get all the requisite idiomatic sounds out of the Pacifica and a good tube amp (I use a new Fender Pro Jr. and a vintage Bandmaster Reverb); SRV, Jimi, Eric, Buddy Guy, etc. Add an Ibanez tube-screamer and you're in business!

Action, neck geometry and fretwork is where this axe really shines. I actually prefer the feel of the Pacifica to the Amer. Std. Strat. I have the unfinished, natural body and it looks great (although I expect it will show dings and scratches with age).

Seems to be built like a brick. The natural finish may not be as robust as some. Pete Townshend would be able to risk gigging without a backup.

IMHO, too many people spend way too much cash on solid-body electrics. If the wood is resonant and, most importantly, the neck feels good - hey, what more can you want. You can always change the pickups. This guitar is a great buy. It sounds sufficiently strat-like, it feels better than most strats and it's solidly built. If I wanted to spend more, I'd simply add a better tremolo and locking sperzel tuners to the Pacifica 112.

I think Korean made. Excellent neck THe only better neck is a fender Mustang. It has decent tuners with alright pikups (two singles and a humbucker) although I replaced the hmbucker with a Duncan JB in the bridge and now it sounds amazing. It has an alder body. I love the thinness at the nut of the neck. THe best guitar you can buy for 300$

Sounds amazing with the Duncan JB and a Big Muff or a Rat. I play mostly Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Zepplin THe neck is awesome for rythm playing. Has a full =sound because of the solid wood body(most guitars in this price rasnge are shitty plywood).

I didn't have to raise the action. The tuners are pretty good quality. When I first got it the pickups were raised too high so i was getting distortion with the Humbucker and I couldn't figure out what it was since its my first electric guitar. One thing the finish doesn' seem to be too durable(I bang it a lot)

This guitar is built to last cause I've dropped it sevedral times and it's fine It deosn't even go out of tune much when you drop it. I depend on the strap buttons and they havn't let me down. One thing again is the finish doesn' seem too durable. But other than that...most marvelous!!

This is an excellent guitar. I bought it over a $400 Fender because the tone was so much better and, of course, the neck. This guitar is excellent for heavy alternative like Nirvana or the Foo Fighters Or Zepplin.

The sound is wonderful unplugged and plugged ! Pickups are noisy (my amp too!)...

well it has 22 frets and is made in Korea , it's a solid body (no ply) which greatly helps this guitars' sound, the pickup are 1/1/2 config, the stocks are OK but so far Ive replaced the humbucker with a Duncan Distortion which has made it's way through all my guitars, it's the best pickup ever made!!, the single coils are a bit noisy, i'll replace them soon, this guitar is very strat-like but with greater playablity, vintage trem, normal tuners, the body is alder I think, mine is black

It works well for my uses which vary from Death-metal to neoclassical to Calypso and Reggae, so this is a VERY versatile axe, I use basically a Marshall Jubilee Stack, sometimes a Mesa combo, and it sounds awesome on both, I dont like the trem though wish it had a wilkinson with sperzels, it sounds very rich and full and it can also give yu good strat quack, I use a Digitech 2101 for all effects

it's set up like a bloddy ESP man..perfect..ultra low, I think the neck is worth 10 times the money for the entire guitar...oops hope Yamaha doest read that...decent paint job

This guitar has passed the Shyam test for durability... it was soaked in rain, left in the sun on the beach, my dog pissed on it and it fell off the stack twice....and it still kicks ass!.... I gonna have my mom bake it and see what happens*L*
