Mid seventies, replica of the Martin D40. Differences = laminate back and sides and cedar top. Otherwise cosmetically very similar, including inlaid YAMAKI insignia vertical down headstock.
A surprisingly significant jump in quality comparted to most Yamakis. Has a very powerful sound, very solid on the mids, more so than most of the highs acustomed in Yamakis.
Mine has a repaired crack on top, and is very stable without bellying or any sign of bridge lifting. Has Yamaki insignia Ping like tuners.

Sounds similar to the bright D18 sound.

Awesome real rosewood fretboard and standard diabolically clever Yamaki neck. Fels like a MArtin neck shape wise, 1 11/16 width at bone nut.

Again given that the back and sides are laminate rosewood, it is impossible to assume they will ewver give way, given the crack on top is stable after repair and no lifting, apart from the cheaper ply bridge plate, this baby will live forever. It actually stays in tune after putting it away which is a sure sign of a good guitar with all setup done accurately.
