This guitar is rebadged as a Daion but the model i.d inside says ym30m12.
solid top spruce Volume controls have been added afterhooked up to a schaller pickup I removed it . THIS IS AN ACOUSTIC.
PAID $550AU FROM eBAY.
In near new condition.
shiny finish inlaid pearly motifs along the neck. Cheap rotten case but that came free so hey!

Sound : 10
I usually play a six string maton but I find myself picking this up constantly. It,s difficult to leave alone.(I,ll probably go blind)
I fingerpick mostly in the John Hurt style and it loves it, particularly 'Casey Jones'I wound her down two frets without buzzing.
Its so loud and rich especially in the bass notes the kind you get drunk on. The action is really low and apleasure to play.
No dislikes

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
There is a slight hump near the bridge but with a set of lights on ,Its no problem and wont get worse.
The original string were rusty and must have been laying around for years.
like I said it' like a new one. (lucky old me.)

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a solid chunk of guitar not as robust as the indestructable maton but up there with the best.
I belt the heck out of it occasionally without any quarms.
Iwould depend on it because I know it wont let me down

I been pickin for forty years. I am a lefty and never did much good with rh restrung. I bought my first lh two years ago and things certainly improved. It was a Maton . Then i always wanted a 12 and waited until one showed up on ebay. Ive had the yamaki about 6 months.
The yamaki company made copies of martin yamaha and such to a very high quality. They sold out to Daion when they were about to be sued. Daion also made beautiful copies and are to be treasured if you find one.
Its an early 80, model and there is a japanese website no english.

A lovely guitar badged under the name "Joodee" but its really a Yamaki, its just like the six string version, all the same woods - spruce top, mahogony neck, indian rosewood back and sides. Lovely inlays

Sound : 10
The sound is absoulutely brilliant, deep and warm yet still gives that 12 string twangyness

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
great finnish, nicely varnished, lovely tuning heads, lovely wood, nice action - no buzzing

Reliability/Durability : 10
no doubt its solidly built

Customer Support : No Opinion
none the company was bought out by yamaha after a law suit over the yamaki name

Overall Rating : 10
A great 12 string guitar probably made somewhere in the late 70's I would really like to know more about Yamaki guitars, or as mine is called "joodee" (maybee they changed the name because they were sued?)please e-mail me if you have any info on yamaki guitars or in particular the YM30M-12. But anyhow it is basically the same as the yamaki. I would think it is pretty rare i have never heard or seen of another Joodee/yamaki 12 string. A bargin for #100!!!!!!
