Features : 10
The Z3 is a hand made solid body electric guitar with 2 Dimarzio Air Classics and Gotoh tuners. The body is Mahogany with a Walnut neck and an Ebony fret board. It's not varnished, painted or otherwise adorned except for stain and wax. It's beautiful.

That's about as cold a description as one could find and it doesn't do Alex justice. If you want to see it go to his website http://www.zacharyguitars.com/ and have a look. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Rating the features is inappropriate as its design is as simple as it is pure. But if I have to rate it I would give it a 10. There is nothing more I require.

Sound : 10
From bright and gritty through to a rich full tone. It can sound mellow or really hard edged. But it's the wonderful blues sound that makes my hair stand on end.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is wonderful. A lovely slick oily feel. It's a joy to play. Everything has been set up meticulously and it was in perfect tune straight out of the case after a 6000 mile journey.

The guitar feels light and perfectly balanced.

I am biased when it comes to the "finish". I fell in love with the concept at first sight. It's simply a beautiful living wooden instrument. Hand made and a pleasure just to hold, smell, touch and play.

It's not a domestic appliance and to that end it's individual. It can't be compared with a machine made guitar. From the moment I picked it up I haven't been able to put it down.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't honestly know. But it's not going to be allowed out after dark <g>
I intend to keep this guitar and to that end it's going to be pampered.

Customer Support : 10
Alex is very helpful, professional and dedicated to what he's doing.
Buying a guitar "sight unseen" over the internet is something of an act of faith. The whole process was painless and efficient. In fact it's a lot slicker than dealing with some of the larger companies around. But it's his enthusiasm for what he's doing that shines through.

Overall Rating : 10
I am not a professional musician but have been playing for almost 30 years. I have owned several stock American guitars and at the time enjoyed them to the full. I don't wish to make comparisons that might offend someone.
Every once in a while something just goes click and works.
That's it with the Z3 it was obviously a labour of love and as such is some thing special. If you haven't played one I can't really explain.
In short I am completely and utterly convinced.
I found the guitar I have been searching for since 1973.
