Features.... See above comments
I did get free strings with the purchase. I paid extra for a nice case. I did get a Zager T-Shirt and an allen wrench for neck adjustments.

But frankly, I did get what I paid for ... an incredibly easy guitar to play... I can't put it down... seriously. That alone is very unusual these days.

Sound : 10
It suits my music style well. I play a wide variety of music. Bluegrass, Celtic, Ballads, Instrumentals, Gospel, soft Rock. They all sound better. I was playing on a Yamaha F-310. Which for the money has a great sound. But for twice the money I got 10 times the guitar in my opinion. It produces a lot of sound (volume)with little effort. All the strings produce a rich full sound, and it is very easy to create desirable overtones similar to what I could get on a 12-string I once had.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Well... it's a Martin. What more can I say? The Martin Sigma DR-41 model has an excellant high gloss finish. Solid Spruce Top, Rosewood back and sides,Full abalone inlay everywhere, Gold Colored Grover heads. The action has been modified by Zager.
I had seen his ad before and wondered how true it could be. The fact is I came into a little money and the Yamaha was really chewing up the ends of my fingers. He offers a "lifetime warranty" So I figured I had nothing to lose.
I bought one and was immediately impressed with how easy it was to play! So I decided to sit down and see how long I could play before my fingers gave out. I'm 53 and have arthritis in my fingers and wrists, plus my hands and fingers are somewhat twisted from a life of construction work. I played continuously for over an hour and a half. I finally quit but only because my wrists were starting to get tired and I had to go to work. I played over four hours total that day and the next morning I got up and played some more and the ends of my fingers didn't hurt. I would not have been able say that about the Yamaha or several other I have owned over the years.
As far as flaws goes everything was set up fine from the factory, I had some minor tuning to due which I attributed to the shipping. The hardware all looked uniform, and since it plays so well I have to assume it is all correctly done.
Frankly, I can't put it down.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well, I play in my Church and I play at home. I use a set of strings a week. I use a strap. I think the answers to the above are all yes.

Customer Support : 10
Lifetime Warranty. So far the company has communicated well. I'm in sales myself now I sell building materials for a small company. They are performing as I try to treat my customers at every level. Which is easy when you don't have any complaints. I am a happy camper! But my intuition tells me if I have a true warraty problem or issue they will live up to it.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing guitar since 1977. I'm no Alvin Lee but I get a lot of compliments on what I play.

I still have the Yamaha F-310, and I now own a nice fiddle and a mandolin. Both of these were made in China but again for the money have a great sound. I have been taking some lessons for both and have been told I am doing well. I also have been experimenting with using my PC as a recording set up to record what I play. I will be getting all the necessary components to make that happen soon.
If stolen I would definitely buy another, ( after I killed the guy that stole it , ha ha).

I love the sound, it's awesome. Actually it looks small compared to others but has a bigger sound. The easy action is the best feature. There is no question. It does what Zager says it will do. Had I had a guitar like this 30 years ago, I might have done things
differently. It is unlike any guitar I have ever played.

I've played on Gibson, Yamaha, Guild, Ovation. The work Zager does to the neck makes all the difference in the world to me. I actually shoped around in Louisville a little before searching online. Martin shows a retail price online of 1299.00 for the DR-41 Rosewood model. I got from Zager for $595.00

I took a small chance on this Guitar because I had the money and because he offers such a strong guarantee.

I wish I could have got one that had the pick-up already installed but I wanted the Martin and at the time I ordered that wasn't an option. The only other things I wish I had was more time to play it...that and I wish he would do one in 12-string!

I don't really do surveys... so I hope you recognize that my willingness to set down and type this all is a demonstration of my sincerity. I have nothing gain, except passing on to others the good deal I got. All guitars (stringed instruments) should be made this way! I mean really!

My name is Robert Scoles... I live in Louisville, Kentucky and I would challenge anyone to find a better guitar!

after much hands on shopping i was skeptical on buying
a too good to be true online site guitar. well i am glad i did
looked and played blueridge br 140 (love to have seen the 160 180)
epi masterbuilt aj 500r various martins and taylors under 1000 range
i love the sound of this guitar full rich clear sound across the board very similar to a martin sound this is my first rosewood back
and side i am warming to this. i play stones, pink floyd, steve earl
beatles, young, dylan- and others in this vein ill give this guitar a nine and wait for it to open up a bit more and repost

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the set up is why you look at a zager guita. i understand that many
people will buy the acoustic they fall in love with then take it
to a luthier and lower the action and some other set-up (i have too
in the past lol) and where i live its 3 weeks till they get around to it. the set up was as good as the site says low action though the
spread strings took me a bit i had to look at the fretboard to retrain my old fingers lol the guitar is a sigma-martin which ive heard some shops have dropped cause they rival the higher price and margin martins - solidly built clean scalloped no glue neck joint
solid exellent even finish (though i am a more light finish man) it
really is amazing guitar for the money i am very happy

Reliability/Durability : 10

i would of loved to of had this guitar when i still played live
i would not of needed a backup

Customer Support : 10
by far one of the best if not the best company i have ever dealt with
and not just in the guitar world if more american businesses had this
kinda of customer service we all be better off. they answer e-mails
during the day in under an hour - you can reach denny jr by phone
100% money back and lifetime warrenty - what else would you want!
a 10 rating is not enough here

Overall Rating : 10
i have been playing 30 years live 10 years i have had too many guitars to list currently my seagull m6 is the guitar that will be
sitting in its case LOL if this were lost or stolen i would call denny zager jr and have another in 2 business days. this is a great value (maybe geared and better for a more beginner player) after all we as a group can be aloof and picky. great sound great set up and
excellent service what else to say - i will be looking to be choosing
zagers travel guitar (ive not found one hands on that i like sound)
i love my guitar

This is basically a Martin Sigma DR41 that was modified by Zager Guitar. Mfg 1/2006. Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar. Back and sides are rosewood. Finish is gloss. Grover tuners. Rosewood Fret board.

Sound : 10
I have a relatively untrained ear but I have many friends that are intermediate and even advanced professional players. Each one has been very impressed with the sound of this guitar especially in light of its cost.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This Martin Sigma DR41 was modified with a setup by Zager Guitar. Strings are lowered and widened slightly. Knut is adjusted along with bridge etc. I found the overall finish of the guitar to be excellent to outstanding. Very nice looking instument all the way around.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Have not had the instrument long enough to comment on its reliability but it seems to be constructed very well. It has a lifetime warranty also.

Customer Support : 10
Thus far, customer support has been absolutley fantastic!

Overall Rating : 10
I'm no expert but I'm convinced that the guitar represent excellent value for the price paid. I would certainly buy again.

This guitar was made in 2005 by Denny Zager in Lincoln, Nebraska. It has 21 frets, solid top. Body style is dreadnought. It has a thin neck, wider spaced strings, and strung close to the frets for easier playing.

The guitar has a full rich tone. The sound quality is great.

I am well pleased with the fit and finish of the DR-41.

Zager Guitar Company is one of the best and helpful companies I have ever dealt with.

This guitar carries a lifetime warranty.

I would definitely buy this guitar again. A feature I really enjoy is the narrow neck, wider spacing of the strings, and strings set closer to the frets for easier chording. I am very well pleased with this guitar.

Absolutely love this puppy !!

I have a Fender accoustic that is heading straight to the closet. This Sigma (Martin import) is quite beautiful, big sound and I had an absolutely super set-up job from Zager..Zager.com. Definately the best buy I have ever received and I have had 6 guitars. My favorite is my Les Paul...but this accoustic plays soooo wonderfully and it is my fav accoustic by far !!! Zager is a great company. No quick talk or BS, just quick & great service.

Sound : 10
Beautiful and warm, like a true Martin..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Best of all !! Zager did a world class job on my set-up...action is as low as my Les Paul...guitar plays as easy too. I recommend these guys. I guess when you do so many guitars, you know how to set these up correctly. My local shop couldnt get the action on my Fender accoustic low at all, waste of my money & I am not super wealthy.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Brand new..cant say just yet.

Customer Support : 10
So far outstanding !

Overall Rating : 10
Would do it again in a heartbeat.

As far as I know, this guitar was made in 2004 by Sigma for Martin & Co. It has a solid spruce top and laminated back.

Sound : 10
This guitar is strictly acoustic and I mostly use it around the house. Finger style, the volume is a little soft, but a pick brightens it up considerably.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was set up and modified by Denny Zager. The playability of this guitar is remarkable. I've been playing the guitar for 35 years, and have owned some fine instruments. The Zager modified Sigma-Martin DR-41 is the easiest guitar I've ever played.

Recently, I noticed a few problems with the higher frets buzzing and a few played the same note. I contacted the Zager company. They have a lifetime warranty and encouraged me to take advantage of it. I sent the guitar in without a case. It was returned to me in a new hardshell Zager case, with a humidity monitor, two sets of strings, a guitar stand, a cool little capo, and a guitar strap. I don't know if that's their normal policy or not, but my guitar was about a week overdue because of a problem with their shipper. Besides all the goodies, Mr. Zager did a fantastic job correcting the problem. I couldn't be happier.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I don't play live anymore, but I'm sure this guitar is up to the task. The Sigma-Martin DR-41 is built like a tank.

I think their customer support is their strongest point.

I've been playing the guitar and bass for about 35 years. I currently own a Peavey Cirrus 5 string bass, a 1974 Ovation Balladeer, a Martin D-28. If my Sigma Martin were lost or stolen, I'd clearly want to replace it with the same one, from the same company, Zager. I comparison shopped at the guitar center and found some really nice guitars that costs more and weren't as easy to play.

Bought in 2005. Full size dreadnought with solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides. 20 freta. Abalone rosette, abalone inlay around the body with white binding on the body, neck and headstock. Abalone inlay on the fretboard. Gold plated Grover tuners. Tortoise shell pick guard. Absolutely gorgeous. It has a gloss finish with a rosewood fretboard and bridge. It has a hand carved nut and saddle. This is my 2nd Zager guitar. The first one I bought was a ZAD 20. I upgraded to a solid top.

Sound : 10
The sound is full with great bass and bright treble. I play mostly classic country and it is a perfect fit for my style.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The DR-41 came set up with low action and in perfect tune. I bought a blemished model to save a few dollars. You would have to look hard to see where the blemish is. I came polished and ready to polay. This is where Zager guitars really shine. With the EZ Play string science it plays better than $1500 Martins I've tried at the local stores.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is solid and made to last.

Customer Support : 10
All Zager guitars come with a lifetime warranty. Customer service is the best I have dealt with. I emailed Denny Zager Jr several times with questions and called him also. He is very helpful. No BS when you call. You get straight information the first time you call.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for a few years now. I started with the Zager ZAD 20 and just got the DR-41. I would definitly replace this guitar if were stolen. Thuis is a great value, not just for price but with the EZ play system it is such a joy to play. No sore fingers.

The guitar I bought was built, or should I say modified by Zager in July of 2005. It has 20 frets and has a solid spruce top. There are no electronics on this guitar. The back and sides are laminated rosewood. The dreadnaught has a high gloss finish. The tuners are sealed Grovers, the frets are hand-filed by Zager to work with the lowered action. No buzz at all, even under moderate strumming. I purchased a case separately from Zager. This is my first acoustic guitar, seems nice and simple without a whole lot of features.

Sound : 10
The reason I'm learning it is to put some simple strumming and such to the normally solo piano music I write. This guitar is just beautiful-sounding to me and inspirational. I'm only just learning how to play, but I've sat down down with some rough sounding guitars to know this one sounds great. It's warm, full and sustains beautifully.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The reason I bought this guitar is for the setup they offer. I wanted an instrument that would be easy to play to encourage me to pick it up more often and practice. That's what the EZ-Play features are about. Go to their website to see and save me from typing. Granted, my fingers haven't developed the caluses from years of playing, but I still sit down for an hour or two at a time with this without a grimace on my face. The finish on the guitar is very nice.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar seems very solid. If it were fitted with electronics, I don't think it would have a problem gigging. I just got it, but do not expect it to have any problems. It's stored in its case and the humidity is under control in the house. It stays in tune very well. The finish seems tough and withstands my clumsy handling.

Customer Support : 10
I've not had to deal with any repairs, but they offer a 100% money-back gaurantee if you're not happy, including shipping. Their guitars come with lifetime warranties too. Communication is excellent. I sent a few questions and comments via email and had personal, friendly replies within a half-hour, it seemed. I don't think I'll need to ever get it repaired, but if I do I'm confident that they will be a pleasure to deal with. It seems to be a friendly, family-oriented business. The website is full of useful information as well as online lessons.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about about 25 years, but on piano. I've a Yamaha C3, a bunch of other keyboard and recording equipment, but no other guitars. I've tried to pick up guitar in the past with borrowed, cheap guitars that did little more than discourage me. I bought this under the premise that a good intrument will inspire the student to practice and so far so good (though it's only been a short time). If it were lost or stolen, I'd buy another one. If I were an expert player, I'd probably go to a big city to try out some guitars in excess of $1000 to see if I could detect a difference. Being green on guitar, I did plenty of online research and depended upon other, more experienced peoples' opinions. The solid spruce top, rosewood sides/back and fretboard were the only thing I knew to look for beforehand. The rave reviews on the EZ-Play modifications and the DR-41 in general are what sold me. I love the sound. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. It's a joy to pick up, even though I'm only learning. I would have probably gotten a Zager ZAD-50 or ZAD-80 if I hadn't been worried that I might not get into playing and would want to resell it. There's a cost savings with the ZAD models for what seems like the same guitar but without the Martin name. It's an awsome guitar that anyone can afford. In my research, I haven't come across anything bad about it.
