Feel, sound and set up awesome right out of the box...really a testimony to the adjustments and detailed inspection it received by Denny himself just prior to shipment. We saw two "dull" marks on the finish, however these wiped right off.

It is brand new.

The Zager company responded within hours to each of my emails and answered each question personally and thoroughly. This added to my confidence purchasing online. When the guitar did not arrive within the timeframe anticipated (a Birthday gift), the company responded immediately, emailing me with detailed tracking information and an offer to ship out another guitar while they pursued the search through the shipping company. I have been playing guitar for 35 years, and have owned Ovation and Martin acoustics, and Carvin electrics. As a kid I owned a couple of acoustics that I cannot name. All were fun to play, even though most were difficult to play due to poor design and/or setup. I have a new Zager ZAD 50CE and it is absolutely the easiest playing guitar I have ever played (I have also played other folks' guitars, Guilds, Washburns, Yamahas, Fenders, and many I cannot recall the name of), and I can honestly say that this ZAD 50CE is set up SO much better and has such a sweet action and sound! Intonation is spot on.

Set-up is unreal. The best I have ever seen or played.
The finish is amazing. The only flaw I can find(and I am very picky)is the very small "usage" mark that I was told would be present. I purchased a discounted model, that was discounted because of the small scratch/mark. I got a great deal. The action is so light and presise that I am able to play chords so much easier and faster than any guitar before.

I have not owned this guitar long enough to say how long it will last. I can say this, however....The hardware is very nice(Grover Tuners for example!) The finish looks to be as good or better than my 27 year old Martin. Better really. A quality piece all the way. I DO depend on it.

I have only had to deal with Zager on the buying end. They were absolutely there for me. All of their replys were lightning fast, most came within a few minutes! Unbelievable in this day and age. Upon buying their guitar I was given lifetime access to their Guitar/ help page. Priceless info I would have had to pay many $$$ to get from private instructors. Been playing 35 years or so. I would buy this guitar back from the thief that stole it. It is that much fun to play. I love the sweet, low action, ease of play, and the SOUND. Fantastic! I have, over the years, played and /or owned, Martin, Ovation,Carvin,Washburn, Fender,Yamaha, Guild, and a few other supposedly good guitars that I cannot recall the names of, some of which were customs and expensive. This Zager is truly special at any price. The only thing I wish it had is a top strap button, only because I do not want to take a drill to such a fine instrument myself.

This 2008 ZAD 50CE black acoustic electric is a dreadnought with a cutaway. It has a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, grover tuning pegs, and bult in tuner, pickup and equilizer.

I use the guitar for rock, blues, folk and a little jazz, using flat pick and fingerpicking.
The acoutic sound is bright and full, very beautiful. The electronics sound great.
There is absolutely no buzzing, like I have in my other guitars with lowered action.

The action was hand set by Dennis Zager. It is low with no buzzing, true to their advertising of EZ-Play.
The finish is striking, gloss black with inlays. There are no flaws.
I have a number of guitars, including Guild, Takamine and Fender and the Zager is the most beatiful, cleanist playing.

I have played for many years. My other acoustics are a Guild D25 (1970)and a Takamine N-18C (1991). These have great sound, but with the lowered action they have some buzz. The Zager has the lowered action, absolutely no buzz and great sound that I expect to get even richer with age.

This was probably the best action fit and finish for any guitar I have tried out. It was grab and play, but the best was the action. It is incredibly easy on the fingers and hands.

I haven't had it long enough to tell for sure, but there is nothing about the guitar that I don't like.

I played back in the early 60's with a fender electric. Then came career, kids and finally retirement. I remembered a few things about music and the guitar and it came back fairly quickly, however I had sold my Fender in the early 70's and needed a guitar. I bought a cheap guitar just to see if I would get the bug again. I did, and knew I needed a better quality guitar. I tried out Martin, Gibson, Taylor, and Fender acoustics. My music preferences have changed over the years to a more mellow sound!!! I tried the Zager because of the money back guarantee and am very pleased with the result. It sounds teriffic and plays very easily. In the music stores I tried out comparable priced guitars and nothing is even close. The most expensive guitars from the big manufacturers are no better than this guitar in my view.

Transparent finish, cutaway, Grover tuners, widened neck for ease of fingering, included truss rod tool and extra strings, made 11/7/07, 20 frets, solid top, volume/bass/mid/treble/presence/built in tuner, Fishman acoustic/electric installed, rosewood fret board.

The guitar has a rich full sound with great sustain and even string volume. I use a Line 6 15w amp. The tone and presence adjustments on the guitar give good variations on the basic sound

The guitar is personally adjusted by Denny Zager before it is shipped. The finish is excellent.

It seems solid and should last. It is my only gig guitar.

I have been playing for 56 years. I also own a Yamaha guitar. I have owned and played Gibson, Yamaha, Stella, and custom made guitars.I would definately get another Zager. I love the rich even sound and ease of playing. I can't imagine a better guitar for the price.

Lovely guitar with a nice satin finish. Dreadnought with non locking tuners, thin neck scale included picks, tools, and others. full controls on amplifier.

It suits my style very well. I play unamplified as much as amplified and have found it to be a very versitile guitar. It works well with every amp and sound system I have tried it with with no fuzz, squealing or feedback. The sound is full, rich and clear-especially when amplified.

I like the sound and would love to play it amplified more.

The guitar was well made at the factory, and was then hand modified by Denny Zager I am very satisfied with the action--very easy to play, but not too low as to cause buzzing on the frets.

The finish is good

It seems like a very well put together guitar that will stand heavy use. I have not had it long enough to say positively, but everything is solid, and I have definately used it on gigs without backup.

It has a 100% warrenty, and the people I dealt with were very professional, but very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I would be satisfied. I have not needed any repair work.

I have been playing for two years, and have played 6 and 12 strings, electric, acoustic and some bass.
I would certainly (and have) recommend the Zager guitars, and would buy there again.
The only thing that I would have liked better was if there was a strap button on the top of the body as well as the bottom.

Amazing engineering!

Absolutely the best sounding acoustic guitar I've played. I've recorded albums with a mid 60's Martin D28 and the Zager sounds equally as rich and brilliant. The projection is crisp , rich and full of tone. Wonderful spectrum. The mids are smooth and mellow, the lows are deep yet clear and the highs are definitive and crisp. I also play it through a Marshall AS50D for an unbelievable sweet tone.The sound must be heard to be appreciated!

The finish is impeccable. It could be coffee table art. Solid craftsmanship through and through. Binding , fret work, inlay, finish all top shelf. You can expect the same quality from a high end guitar costing quadruple the price. It came right out of the case IN TUNE and set up perfectly. I am used to playing electric guitar and I was apprehensive of committing to play acoustic due to the uncomfortable experience playing other acoustic that had stiff, high action. I continue to be thrilled at how easily this guitar plays. I can work the whole neck and not get fatigued.

I've had the guitar just a few weeks, but it is built very sturdy and solidly. Proper care will insure that this guitar will last the life of the player and then be able to be passed on to the next player in the family.

I did A LOT of research before I purchased this guitar. I actually had already placed an order for a Carvin (great electrics) then cancelled that order and bought the Zager. I am very happy I did! I played all the Carvins at the showroom as well as many others at guitar center and hands down the Zager beat them all in action AND sound.
