Ease of Use

as with all the Alesis "plug and play" Q/Quadra cards,....you simply "plug and PLAY". it is a bit "un-nerving" trying to get those pins lined up before you shove that baby in,...always makes me nervous.

this is one of the ORIGINAL "Quadracards" (before they became "Q-cards"). i am using it with an S-4+ rack module. the 4 "Quadraknobs" are basically useless when using an older Quadracard on a "newer" Alesis module/synth. nevertheless,..my controller's modulation wheel DOES affect some parameters.
Expressiveness/Sounds

an assortment of "WORLD" sounds. not the best fidelity (it is only a 4 meg card),..but definitely useable. the didgeridoo (and similar) samples sound great. most of the percussion samples are excellent as well. there are a few "loops" which can be both usefull and quite annoying. there is the odd wind and flute and a few unknown noises. the "waterphone" is pretty cool (i must admit).
Reliability

never fails to work.

i like it. i have alot of the extra cards for my S4+. this is one of my favorites. i also own an EMU "Planet Earth" which kicks the ever-lovin' CRAP outta this card......BUT,....if you can find one of these cards for less than $75 i say give it a try. there are just ENOUGH interesting sounds to make it worth your while.
