Ease of Use : 7
It is a real modulair synth so no presets
patching is better than Doepfer because you have room for your fingers
Doepfer modules are as small as posible so when "patched up" it is difficult to turn the knobs.AS is better but not as good as a Roland system 700 or Moog modulairs

Features : 10
More modules means more options
it is as flexible as any modulair synth

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
I also have a lot of doepfer modules and a roland system 100 (2*101 & 1*102).I think that the system 100 is a lot better than AS and Doepfer
in every way. VCO's, VCA's ,Mixers and envelopes of AS are better but the fiters of doepfer are way better!!!(more character more musical)

Reliability : 7
I use some modules in my life setup :2 RS110 multimode filters for stereo drumloop filtering and I "midified" my Roland System 101 with a kenton pro 2000 and the VCA's and mixers of AS.
The RS110 is a realy clean filter and when you raise the resonance bass level stays the same unlike transistor ladder filters.

I have verry bad experiences with Analoge Systems . I orderd a Basic RS integrator System 1 (6he 2vco's ,2 envelopes ,2 vcf's ect.)at The Music House in Utrecht Netherlands,These guys sell at least 1 Doepfer A100 a week!!.And finaly after 6 months my synth arrived . I Then wanted to expand my system so orderd a RS-15' 6he case what took an other 6 months to arrive ,I also orderd a sequenser module and after a few months I went to the shop to ask where my seq was .So we called Gordon Read at AS. to ask what was going on . He said that all the parts where inhouse and it only needed to be assembled,2 weeks later I shoud get my seq .2weeks later no modules we called again and got the same story ..... in the end The music House had to discontinue dealership of Analoge Systems because of this!! so I'm not happy whith the Customer support of Gordon

Overall Rating : 5
I think it has the same value as doepfer and you should get modules from as many diferend supliers as you can in your ultimat modulair system

The only verry big disapointment was that gordon treated me and the store where I buyed it verry bad .You just dont treat people like that.

Other gear:Doepfer A100 2 cases , Roland system 100(2*101&1*102),alfajuno 2 and TB303, Studio Electronics SE1-x , Alesis Andromeda A6 , korg DVP1,Akai MPC1000

I own a 9U 22 modules system.
Came with a manual with description for each of the modules.
I had a little background in modular patching, coming from a Nord Modular and Reaktor, but I have to say, it is a lot more "immediate" and interactive when everything is laid out in front of you.
Again, i think a little synthesis knowledge is required to develop patches.

Polyphony?
not quite happening here, since it's is a monophonic instrument (if you approach it from a keyboardist point of view) but then again, I bought this system to get away from the "pre-patched" synths and usual features, and the ease of use makes up for the lack of "modern technology".
There are Effect modules that can be bought, such as the Delay/sampler(next buy, as soon as i recover from this one..;-), Echo, reverbs and phasers.
I had the chance to play with them but don't own any at the moment.
It is however possible to create effects from the modules that are in my system, influencing both the internal sounds, or external feeds too( with filters, and such)
Expansion is the key here.
You can expand the system up the ying yang, provided that you have the money!
Mine came with a midi to CV interface, so i can control/slave it to Logic Audio, and integrate it in my working flow, but at the moment( had it for less than a week), it BECAME my working flow...haven't turned on my mac besides to write this review(almost...)

This is my set-up:
1 x RS-15 case
1 x RS-10 case
1 x RS-140 Midi interface
5 x RS-95 VCO
1 x RS-100 Low pass filter
1 x RS-110 Multimode filter (low, high, band, notch)
2 x RS-165 Signal mixer
1 x RS-80 VC-LFO
1 x RS-20 Ring mod / Multiple
1 x RS-170 Multiple
1 x RS-230 CV-Buffer
1 x RS-160 CV Mixer
2 x RS-180 VCA
3 x RS-60 Envelope generator
1 x RS-40 Noise-S/H generator

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
Don't know what to say, really.
I grew up with software synths mainly, and an original minimoog.
It is unbelievable how "simpler" tools such as VCOs and LFOs and ADSRs become
much more expressive, and how differently i approach them now that i can touch them/route them however I want...And that is before patching anything else!.

The Sound quality is really good.It is different from my minimoog, if we consider a basic patch; but ,again, I have that already!
Oscillators are really stable.
As far as MIDI response, I played a little with the MIDI to CV converter and it seemed really quick at responding to midi messages and highly customizable in terms of controllers/CVs.

Reliability : No Opinion
It looks like it's well built, and I really dig the smaller size of the modules, compared to the moog-style ones.
It makes it easier to carry around and integrate in a studio enviroment.

Called AS(UK) since I had an issue with the power supply.
Bob Williams himself guided me through the troubleshooting and sent me an email with further info in less than an hour.
It is the first time i am receiving such support, especially if you consider that it comes from the company's founder.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
This system is worth more than i have paid for it.
I was lucky to find it and I would buy it again if it would get stolen.
I has made the creative process interesting and challenging again for me, and that is more than enough!
