Ease of Use

Just hit the buttons and it plays what it says. I am really impressed with the ease of use. I bought this item used and have not been able to find a user's manual. I am CERTAIN that I could do better if I had an operator's manual to explain some of the extra functions.

This is definitely a beginner's keyboard. Only has one speaker and the tones are not that great. Keys are not touch sensitive. No add-ons. You can use an AC adapter to save on penlight batteries. Also has a small earphone jack. You could probably hook this bugger up to some powered PC speakers for some loud jammin sessions.

No aftertouch and very little polyphony. Again, just a beginners keyboard. This thing is a typical 80's instrument for big haired gurls, and men that wear "Members Only" pleather jackets.

I bought mine used at a thrift shop for a whopping $6. That's right, six dollars! This thing must be 20 years old, is missing the battery compartment cover on the bottom, but it plays like a charm. Due to it's light weight and portability, I would call this machine the back-up's back-up. So, if your back-up fails, you can still play polkas all night long and keep the wedding party happy.

Have never dealt with Casio. I do wish they would post their users' manuals on their website in pdf form or something like many other companies for for products sold to retail consumers.

After years of wanting to learn to play the piano (or keyboard), I have finally decided to take some steps to learn. I have limited space where I live and don't feel like having a heavy piece of furniture to clean and move. So, I knew I needed a keyboard to start. What I really WANT is a Yamaha DGX-505. But, that costs $600. Probably a good investment if I ever get to be "good". But, for starters, I could use something less expensive. I was seriously looking at the Yamaha PSR-275 models. Great features with touch sensitive keys and true grand piano sounds. The PSR-275 can be had for about $180. I was going to buy one, use it for a year or so, and then if I continue to play, I would upgrade to a better model and give the "275" to my niece. Well, wouldn't you know it. I stopped by a local thrift store looking for cheap computer cables, when I found this dirty, dusty, nasty looking thing sitting in the corner near the computer junk. Across it's face was clearly written, "$6- AS IS". Checked it out and despite the grit and grime, seemed to be just ok. A quick walk to the local grocery store, two doors down, and I came back with a pocket full of AA batteries. Put the batteries in...it works! Six bucks? Six bucks! Paid the cashier, brought it home and cleaned it THOROUGHLY. Man, this was the best $6 I ever spent. It's lightweight, easy to use and easy to store. And now I can start my do-it-yourself CD ROM and DVD based biginner piano lessons. This thing is definitely work six whole dollars. Maybe up to $10. But...beyond that and you are pushing it. If you find one at a garage sale for $10 and under and it is fully functional, BUY IT. Any more than ten bucks and you are being ripped; the technology and sound is 20 years old.

Well, theres one thing it has goin for it, easyest thing to use on earth.

It CLAIMS to have up to 6 polyphony... I dont really think the manual knows what its talking about though, I only got two, theres the lite, shallow, crappy sound, and then theres a warmer, fatter version. I dont really know if it has built in affects or not.... it can do beats, only mine cant cause I got a broken one.... heh... expansion... heheh... NO, no expansion without rippin it opened and sottering on a new part, isnt to say you CANT rip it open and sotter on a new part, im doin it to mine... any how, no midi, no sequencer, the keys are pressure senstive on some settings with some instruments...
Expressiveness/Sounds

It actually seems to have decent aftertouch, at least on some settings, instruments are not at all realistic, but nice nontheless. I personaly make Experamental and Industrial electonica, so the "odd" tones are fine for my uses, has some nice retro tones to it, seems like itd work for synth-pop or prog-rock pretty well.... all in all, it actually sounds rather nice.
Reliability

Let me put it this way, I found this thing buried under trash, wet, covered in dust, and with half the plastic cover broken, and aside from the the lack of beats, it works fine. Heh... I prolly would use the hunk of junk on a gig, but thats just me, its really your call, not the nicest looking synth, but if you want a tone it makes, you wont be able to get anouther to play it the same, granted, the 100's sound ALMOST the same, but not as rich, an odd thing, seeing as there stero and this one is mono.

Im givin it a 10, for starters, I love the sound, and if you can actually play a keyboard, then its fine, a bit lacking as a synth, and dont expect to play trance on it, but hell, for something I FOUND, i'd say its a prety DAMN good value, that is to say, dont spend more than 25$ or so and your fine, its a cheap peace of crap, but its not that bad when you get over the whole cheap peace of crap-nes

Ease of Use

One of those winhanghoo-synths, easy to use, even if you are a beginner, like me. The synth is compatible and it can be stored anywhere. Just like I said, for beginners. Easy to use and carry around.
Features

This synth has 100 sounds and a beat bank, which has 100 different beats.
This thing is easy to use, as I said many times before. The beat bank has some cool touch of 80s, so you can produce NES-music. Retro-stylish machine. It isn't vintage, but the sounds definately are very unique.
About keyboard action, well, I say, it is quite smooth and quick. No midi-in/out, nothing like that. Just a power plug and line-out.
Cheap.
Expressiveness/Sounds
:6
The instruments are quite non-realistic, but there is couple very cool instruments in this product.
Music styles .. Well, retro-videogame music I could say, but I do think no one wouldn't use this synth in making music. Well, unless you count me.
I can't say this synth would be bad, as a toy, but as a working machine, no way. This is one of those machines you use for fun.
Beat bank rules, it is very unique, but otherwise, there is nothing really cool in this synth.

Depend on this thing? Sure, as long you don't throw it around. I didn't take very good care of this, but it works, even though I think I spilled some coke on it.
No gigging with this thing, no way! Unless it is some very retro-stylish pub or whatsoever, but no. Something else than this synth when gigging.
I don't know about the age, but this has been in use from 80s or early 90s. I bought it from a friend.
But, seriously, no gigging with this. Use this as backup's backup.

I haven't dealed with Casio, but Casio-products are alright. I had a Casio digital camera, but uh, I broke it. Well, I don't know about customer support, never dealed with them, as I told.
I got my Casio wristwatch repaired, it was one shop which ships Casio-products, and boy, I say, they didn't do too good work.
I can not judge this area very well, but I give an .. 5.

Well, this was worth of those 22 dollars, well, 150 Finnish marks, which makes about 25 euros. As I am only a beginner, I really cannot tell a lot. I think this synth has very cool beat bank, which suits my taste. If this one was lost, I could cry, because .. Well, I just like this synth.
I own a guitar, which I don't use a lot, a bass guitar, which I bought about week ago and a very big organ.
This synth, well, the beat bank is absolutely cool and the instruments, well, I can not say almost anything good of them. Some of them are very cool, when most just suck.
I haven't compared it to other products, than my electric organ, and well, the ease of use in Casio 110 beats the organ.
Otherwise, well, the organs, they are a lot more better and the best thing, VINTAGE.
I can not wish anything else from Casio 110-synth. It is enough for me.
It might help me in making music, because I don't a lot instruments, because I am a real beginner .. Heh.
Nothing else that I would like to share. If you see one of these moving around, grab a one, if it is cheap. Makes a great toy!
I give eight, because I just happen to like this synth in some strange way.
