I can't believe the bad reviews some folks are giving this! This model is basically the same as the earlier model Casio CTK-611 with just one feature that they added to this one. Also they may have improved the speakers a little. Please see my review of the CTK-611 for more info that applies to this model. By the way, the CTK-611 scores an average between 9 and 10 overall with several reviews submitted, and again it is almost EXACTLY the same unit.

As a reviewer said before, every Casio is very easy to use.

Here we start with the real problem. Implementation for Casio instruments are basic and cheapy... in a few words, you can have everything, but nothing... I.E. It has a sequencer, but it definitely sucks. You can edit your patches, but envelopes are just presets. t can be a MIDI controller, but only a few MIDI messages are sent... this is not serious stuff!

I don't give it an 1 because the strings and drum samples are very good and useable... everything else is just cheesy. (Anyway, GM sequences sounds nice here)

Fortunatelly, i could sold it and get some money to buy pro-stuff... Maybe a Roland or Kurzweil controller to hang some modules. Don't you ever buy a Casio keyboard, these toys don't deserve your money...

If your asking me how easy it is...
All Casios are easy to use.
It is a very simple keyboard
But making your own sounds can be trickiy if you just got it.

The Layer is the simplest thing to do. The split is also easy. The Pitch bend is very fun for a real sound for a sax.
The reverb is clever because it is changes the "echoing" of the sounds.Ex. It can sound like your in a studio,a small stage, and a arena.

The Piano is Awful if you are a jazz or Gospel musican like myself.
The organs do have thier good points, but to make a jazz or a "Baptist Organ" you will have to do a lot of making and layering sounds. The brass and the synths are very good for house get togethers or parties. The keyboard is for classical musicans.

I personally will never use it on a gig, but it will last you a VERY long time.

If it was lost or stolen I would not buy it again. I am a 14 year old musiacan from Yonkers and I've seen many Keyboards in my 2 years of playing, and i now play for a church as a job I Unfortunately have to use that keyboard as a main keyboard. I am saving up yo get a Rd-150 or a Rs-5
Yah bless
