Ease of Use : 10
For our band I needed a good sounding, affordable electric piano. I went into my local music store and played a few keyboards. And then I played the PX310. Perfect! Quality sounding piano's, great feeling weighted keys - just what the doctor ordered! The sounds I'll use most with this keyboard are already pre-programmed and ready to go, so for me ease of use is perfect.

The keyboard action on this affordable unit was a big selling point for me. It feels GREAT!

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Very realistic pianos. For our band my favorite is the "Rock Piano" option. Nice and bright.

Reliability : 10
Dependablilty so far is good. Hasnt let me down yet!

Over all rating is excellent. The only thing I hate about this keyboard is the power cord. Why does Casio constantly put a "wall-wart" at the end of their power cords? Seems to me they should have built this inside the keyboard, or stuck the darn think in the middle of the power cord so that users don't have to plug in a wall wart into their power strip. Other vendors use standard computer-type power cords - why can't Casio?

It's plug & play, no editing, and has the basic layer/split functions you find in Korg, Roland, and Yamaha Digital Pianos. The best part is, it's the lightest (12kgs) weighted key piano. I'd give it a 10 if the manual wasn't needed for other basic ops

32 note polyphony is ok though 64 is ideal. Layering would feel the drop here. The keyboard action is superb, on par with Korg, Roland, and Yamaha Digital Pianos.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
All the presets are useful in studio and live performances. The grand piano is equally good to that of the 3 major brands though it has a muddy C3-C4 if struck with complex chords. Triads chords are ok. The eq on the higher is register makes complex passages cut through clearly. The Rock Piano, EP1, and the Jazz Organ are well EQed in all registers.

Value for Money, i'd buy it again, but if Casio comes up with a 76 key version, it'll definitely weigh less, and I'll go for that.

Pretty easy to use, select a sound and play. Advanced functions require holding down a 'funtion' button and pressing keys to change values. No editing of sounds, but you can add reverb and chorus. The manual is adequate that's about all I can say..

Very light and portable, less than 30 lbs!

The polyphony is 32 notes, which is not bad. Excellent graded hammer action keyboard, nice and stiff, feels like a real piano. Built in reverb and chorus, with four different settings for each. Split, layer and transpose functions. No Mod or pitch wheel.

No expansion capabilities, but does have MIDI in\out\thru and has a multi-timbral GM module built in. Basic two track sequencer, built in speakers and headphone jacks. A nice feature is a line in jack that you can run a CD player or other sound source into. You can import MIDI files to play along with, and it has the standard Casio Auto Accompaniment features that "real" keyboard players hate, but can actually be pretty fun to mess with for beginners.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Very nice grand pianos, rhodes and wurly. Organs, strings are OK. The rest of the GM sounds are decent, but not great. You can layer two sounds, either two of the main sounds or one main sound plus one sound from the GM section, then adjust the balance of the two for some different variations. There is a very nice jazz organ sound in the GM section that is way better than the main organ sounds, which have too much leslie effect on them.

The drum sounds are actually pretty good, and there is a nice selection of different rhythm styles for accompaniment. The built in speakers sound better than I expected, and with headphones on you can really appreciate the quality of the samples. I havent run it through my keyboard amp yet, but I can imagine it would sound super.

I dont know about reliablilty, but it seems fairly well built. I would not gig with this board, it is for home\studio use.

Dont know. Their website is pretty lame.

I am mainly a guitarist that dabbles in keys a bit. I was looking for a good hammer action keyboard for practicing and home studio use. Nothing under $1000 could compete with the PX-310 in terms of key feel or sounds. And it is so light you can carry it with you anywhere. I also own an upright piano and the PX-310 plays just like the real thing. Of course it's sounds cannot really compare to Yamaha, Roland, or Kurzweils costing a grand or more. It absolutely blows the Maudio Pro Keys and Yamaha P60 away in quality of the key action. I would buy it again. Sure, it's not something a pro would use, but at $600 it's a great value for practice and as a controller. The only thing I wish it had is mod\pitch wheels and the ability to edit sounds. But then again, its a digital piano not a synthesizer.

I have read reviews elsewhere that basically said: "the thought of buying a Casio never crossed my mind until I played a PX-310 in the store. Then I walked out with one". Same thing here.
