I used an Amiga 1200 with 6 megabyte ram, and a 68030 50mhz. Today, I even find that windows on my pc with a 1 gigahertz processor (1000 Mhz!), works slower than the operating system (workbench) on that amiga running at 50 mhz. The Amiga is absolutely the most eastiest and friendly computer to use. It also has the best mod-trackers like octamed soundstudio and great midisequencers like bars & pipes. It has the best operationsystem I've ever seen on any homecomputer. Too bad that nowadays, the hardwareside is underdeveloped. But if you read the news on www.amiga.com, you've probably heard of a very exiting prohect that may change the future of all computerplatforms, from Msdos to Mac. Read there about "Windows Development Environment for Multi-platform Applications". It is possible that Amiga will become the most important thing to computers in the 21st centure, not as a hardwarecomputer, but as an universal operatingsystem... read about it at www.amiga.com!

I used my Amiga with a clarity 16 bit soundsampler with midi-interface. I hooked my old GEM ws2ii on it. I created all kinds of music using Octamed soundstudio. Its polyphony is up to 64 audiotracks, 16 bit. Great sound. I nowadays use Logic on the PC. It's ok and the soundquality is better. But octamed gave me a lot more features when it came to using samples the way modtrackers can.

Well, I've got a pc now... It's because I do a lot of multitrack-recording in Logic. But for midi and modtracking, it's the best computer you can get.
