My other analogue-type monophonic synth is a Novation Bass Station which I very much prefer. Both were originally marketed as TB303 clones but neither really quite gets there. At least with the Bass Station you get some surprises. With the DB9 it's just a mild feeling of disappointment. No squealing, growling or quivering here! Having said that, if what you want is a nice, solid, easy-to-use dance bass machine, with just a touch of tweakability, get one. Quick tip: It gets more interesting if you distort it on your mixer.

1u rack analog mono synth. basic control over the common tb-303 things like tuning, cut off, resonance, env mod, decay, attack, volume, and a rotary knob for selecting the midi channel.
its just a basic single osc analog.

as a TB-303 clone just forget it. it's one of the worst clone's ive heard, BUT as a nice bass synth its awesome. it has very clean punchy deep bass in a very euro style. i really like the way it sounds. the filter in particular is fantastic. it sounds like no other filter ive ever heard!

WOW!!!!!! ive seen really tuff synths before, but this is is by far the most rugged! very thick faceplate, sturdy back case, sturdy midi and audio ports, and very solid milky smooth knobs. infact the knobs are soo tight that they turn very slowly. no high speed knob wobbling here, just good ol slow-mo sweeps.

dunno.. but there is a phone number and address painted onto the back side of it, i plan on attempting to get a hold of them for a replacement knob, because one knob is missing from mine.. but i dont think their still in buisness?

overall i like it. its not the greate4st thing on earth, but i like how it sounds. if it was stolen id get another one for shure.
my gear list is mostly rackmount analog mono synths, i just like em alot. i use a fat freebass, doepfer ms-404, novation bassstation rack, spectral audio syntrack, spectral audio neptune, elektron sidstation & dave smith evolver.
i guess this DB-9 is compairable to the mam mb-33 (aka fat freebass, next spacebass), they are better for tb-303 acid, but this is better for deep walking bass lines.

It couldn't be easier.
Every paramter has it's own knob.

It's a TB 303-Clone, so it hasn't much features at all.
No built-in sequencer - but MIDI-IN, OUT and THRU.
No additional knobs. Just the well known: Tune, Cutoff, Resonance, Env, Decay, Attack.
Attack is controlled by velocity.

I think this is really a poor man's 303. It sounds like the TB, but not as good as it sould.
It's definitly one of the better clones - but a clone seems to remain a clone.
But if you can get one cheep, it's sure a good alternative. I think it sounds a better than the Rebirth-Software.

I needed something like a 303, but didn't want to pay a lot of money, so I finally got the DB9 for 125 Euro. It's definitly worth paying 125 Euro for it!
But I wouldn't pay more...
