Not a MIDI unit. Analog only. Basic sounds. Not sampled. Very good for functional bass sounds. No "patch" editing. ADSR analog. Sawtooth and one other wave form.

Mono only. Action very "foot friendly." Doubling is only effect. Not very good. No expansion. No MIDI. No sequencer.

Tone is full and rich, although not realistic. Musically good. Good for OMB dance. Not velocity sensitive (a good thing for pedals.)

After 25 years, I have a broken F# pedal. I'm trying diligently to replace it. Never needed a backup.

I'm trying now to get a replacement pedal. Company's been resold, etc. Sending out feelers. It IS a very limited consumer item.

I'd pay $400 for a unit like this in good condition. I've been a professional for over 35 years. I play a Yamaha P-250, Yamaha RX-ll drum machine. JBL speakers, Peavey powered-mixer. I love the functionality of the instrument--wish it was a sampled tone. I wish I had something JUST like it, with a sampled bass tone. The foot wheels which control sustain (after release) and volume are priceless. These two items are essential when going from one tune to the next. I care about music more than tone. Of course I like great tone, but if the musicality is sacrificed then give me functionality instead.

It's a very basic analog synth, just twist knobs as desired

It's a very basic analog synth, just twist knobs as desired - I love it as is but effects help a lot

The saw waveforms and filters are cool - it's a bass foot pedal type synth so it plays one note at a time

It needs tlc. For years I never used it because the tuning was out of scale then I opened it one day and noticed little pots at each end of the circuit board to stretch the scale. I use it all the time now. I'm still leary of it because of it's age.

If it were lost or stolen I'd probably never find another. It's priceless. I've been playing 25 yrs. primarily guitar. I also use a Roland XP-50 but I love the old analog CPB-2. I've heard that Robert Moog had a hand in it's design, but it could be a rumor.
