Ease of Use : 10
I have other ways of getting MIDI CC's into my sequencer (AN1x-Nova- Spirit 328), but this is the quickest, easiest system by far. A complete no-brainer to edit and save patches.

Features : 10
Sixteen knobs at one time- really makes the VSTi come alive...And 25 storage presets, more than enough, even with a ton of Virtual Instruments. I think I'll even store a preset for the JV-2080.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
A definite tool for expressiveness. Helps the synths breathe - like the old days. Also helps "Abelton Live" really shine, very cool.

Reliability : 7
Maybe it's not a Sherman Tank, but this isn't a toy either. I'm sure it will hold up well in a controlled environment, not too sure if I would want to let it see the road though.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Lost, yeah I'd have to replace this one for sure.
There are a lot of controllers out there but this one is USB, forget the wall wart and you needn't lose another input on your already crowded MIDI device.
It does the job with a small footprint right on my Midi keyboard next to the Mac Keyboard. And you can program it! That's why I didn't go with the Phat.Boy. Perfect price, it's a winner.

Install drivers. Plug in. Turn knobs. Have fun. Easy. It comes filled with presets for all the biggie softsynths and whatnot, but assigning values as you see fit is a piece of cake.

Mmmmmm... cake....

25 memory locations... fine for me, but I know this might put some people off. The first 4 presets have dedicated buttons on the front panel, which is a nice touch. Since I use this mainly with Reaktor, I have the first 4 presets set to cc #'s 1-64 and just right click and assign whenever I want. Fast and painless.

You can assign each knob its own channel (arbitrarily.. the first 4 can be channel 1, the next 4 channel 10, etc) if you wish. Good stuff for complicated Reaktor ensembles or multiple pieces of hardware. It's also dead-easy to send a controller "snapshot" to your sequencer which is a nice thoughtful touch.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
While it obviously doesn't do anything on it's own, the amount of expression that it does add to existing products is almost incalculable.

Reliability : 10
Despite the relatively cheap construction, I 've had no problems with it at all. Wouldn't want to drop it though.

If it was lost or stolen I'd prolly just buy another. It's a great quick and dirty knob box, cheap and powerful.
