The volume pedal is all plastic on the outside with a partial metal frame. It has adjustable legs for two hiegth settings. It has a large extension jack on the bottom maybe for a bass register or a series of key triggers.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
The pecusive section is very details giving tone bars at stops: 16, 8, 5 1/3, 4, 2 2/3, 2, 1 3/5, and 1 1/3. And it has three decay settings. Using just the the sine wav generators, the Flute section, and the percussion circuts all incunjuction with a leslie and you get a very passable B-3 sound. The keys even trigger the tone bars the same way a Hammond organ does, that is, if you slowly depress the keys you can hear each of the tone bars engage from the highest to the lowest.

Reliability : 9
Maybe, it is more reliable than my Vox Jaguar wich has key trigger tempormentalness.

If I had to replace it I would pay up to $175.

The Compact Professional is a real pig to move around but it sounds great. There are several different manuals with pipe lengths which have tabs, rather than drawbars. I have a lesley speaker that I use with it and it can sound very formidable. The bass tones are excellent.

Features : 8
The different registers can be organized in hundreds of combinations so there are many sounds possible. The keys are really easy to depress and can handle alot of clusters and glissandos which give that cool 60's sound. There is a volume pedal, and a vibrato setting (built in) that help to give variety. (If anyone has a volume pedal for this model, e-mail me--mine's lost).

Expressiveness/Sounds : 7
Best for 60's prog-rock sound. Instruments are cheesy, but that's the appeal of this thing.

Reliability : 10
The one I have is at least 25 years old and it runs great. I took it apart to clean the dust out of it, but other than that i've had no problems.

Customer Support : 4
I have an address for parts from Farfisa, but you have to write to Italy. There would have to be places in major cities in NA that would be able to help you find parts. Although, we need more people willing to restore analog equipment and do repairs.

Overall Rating : 9
Definitely I would try to find another one if I ever lost it. At times the tabs are a pain, but using it with a lesley is pure listening pleasure. It's a great unit to have to supplement a couple of other boards unless you're doing strictly surf or 60's stlye stuff. I am not interested in selling at this time.
