Ease of Use : No Opinion
it's advertised as semi-weighted?...it feels like synth keys...action is easy enough, although i found in many programs that some keys would be noticeably louder than others..(as i recall the same keys)

Features : No Opinion
it's as barebones as barebones gets...i'm not saying the plastic it's made from is cheap...it's no road-hog i don't guess

Expressiveness/Sounds : No Opinion
midi controller

Reliability : No Opinion
the problems that i mentioned earlier would've kept me from ever gigging with it...(i play guitar mainly, and usually only gig with bass)

Customer Support : No Opinion
have no idea

Overall Rating : No Opinion
it's ok...don't expect too much...i don't think there's a less expensive 88 key to be found...so if that's the only concern...it's ok...

Absolute bare bones keyboard. Plugs in and starts sending MIDI with zero hassle. The only configuration issues you could have are going to be with whatever software you are using it to steer.

Features : 5
Three buttons, three connections, a wheel, 88 semi-weighted keys and absolutely nothing else. The action is nice and solid and the keys look and feel like a regular piano, although the ebony keys are a little matt. There is a bank select function which works without a problem.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Very rapid and realistic-sounding play is possible with both the likes of Reason and the 'virtual instrument' variety of software.

Reliability : 8
The keys are fantastic and everything you would expect. The housing, on the other hand, is the one downside of this otherwise faultless keyboard. It's horribly cheap injection-moulded plastic, and the device actually carries a warning for it not to be left in direct sunlight or a car, as it may deform. A keyboard that melts in the sun?

This keyboard delivers everything it promises, i.e. a very reasonably priced high quality 88-key MIDI controller. The feel of the keyboard is excellent and everything you would expect. However, more effort really could have been made with the housing: the fairest comparison is a Tupperware lunchbox. That said the keys, after all the business end of the keyboard, feel solid, expressive and like a real piano, so if you can get around the fairly embarrassing case they come in this keyboard shouldn't disappoint.

There is a wee mod wheel, a power button, and 2 program select buttons (step down, step up). I almost wished they'd left out the extras leaving only a power switch, cause with this board its all about the keys...

Features : 8
Great semi-weighted keys. A bit like a rhodes... not nearly as slow as hammer struck keys can be. This keyboard's total weight defies belief ... 17 lbs? Yea, that counts as a feature.

1 MIDI out port (no USB MIDI), with a MIDI interface and a good host software app like Cubase SX or Sonor, you can do any keyboard mapping in software.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
88 keys velocity sensitive, no aftertouch.

Reliability : 9
No probs

If you want a very playable 88 key board which is lightweight, there none better for the price than the TMK-88. Its compact, can fit into a crowded studio control room very well. Great board.
