Once you get the hang of scrolling through the settings, it's easy. The manual was written by some lazy Italian non-techie who should be shot.
Features

1200 internal sounds, several mixed/blended performance settings, drawbars like a B3, simulated Leslie. What do you think?
Expressiveness/Sounds

The Equinox is by far, the most capable synth on the market. If you don't like the factory sound, you have 100 different characteristics that can be applied to each to make it the way you want it. If you're still not happy, download a wav. file from 100 places on the 'Net that contains the sound(s) you want.

These things are built like a tank. They are weighty (around 60 lbs) but at least the Italians use real metal--not flimsy plastic like the competition.
Customer Support

No such thing. The Italians closed their shop in Milan or whatever it was. They don't even answer the phone now. Fortunately the schematics for the Equinox are so standardized that any competent electronic repair facility should have no problem correcting any issues.

For all of you Kurzweil-ites, Roland-ers and others: You've really missed the boat. The Equinox is, by far, the best keyboard for the money that you could ever have. Even at $2000, it's a bargain. Interested? Check Ebay auctions occasionally. You might find one for under $300.

The board is easy when editing sounds and performances
(layered sounds)
the sequencer is a little unreliable and very hard to use, I use a
sw sequencer on a PC to use it
Still don't use the grooves
Features
:

complete: drawbars, sounds, polyphony...
it gives a very good bang for the buck value
Expressiveness/Sounds
:

all the sounds except for the strings are very good,
and the expressivenes of the machine is complete.
It gives a decent piano, a decent drawbar emulation...
Ity's good for live situations with some friends to rock with
unfortunately, the strings are crap!
Reliability
:

yes, for gigging live is enough
depending on the sequencer is hazardous

If it were lost or stolen I would buy a different board,
but only for curiosity.
The main strong point of the instrument isd the price:
it gives you a LOT for little money.

Has limitless features and effects that can be applied to any sounds. Keys are touch sensitive, activating any number of effects and depths.
The 16 track on board sequencer is fun and easy to use.

This is currently the most authentic Hammond Organ/Leslie Speaker digitally produced self-contained board on the market in addition to the 1200+ factory pre-set sounds and combinations. The accoustic pianos (50+ varieties) can be adjusted through various effects and adjustments to the sound to achieve any accoustic brand's sound.

This is my 2nd General Music brand board. The first had some mechanical problems after a year of steady use. The current board is only 6 months old and, to date, has had no problems develop.

General Music sold out to Peavey. I understand Peavey sucks with regards to getting tech support.

The ability to load this board into my trunk instead of hiring a motorcyle gang to load my old B3 and 2 Leslie Speakers for a case (or more) of Bud speaks for itself. The savings on the beer purchases is worth it alone.

Editing is EZ with storage of saved performance modes also easy. Tons of presets (1200) to work from, edit and store. Layering and splitting equally easy.
Features

The Leslie effects are as good as any onboard system on the market. The slow-fast is actuated by a pedal which is ported in the rear of the board. Lots of other effects available.
Expressiveness/Sounds

General Music has the best orchestral sounds on the market. The Hammonds are authentic and accoustic pianos can be adjusted sufficiently to emulate the crisp Yamaha grand or the softer Baldwins as well as everything in between. The saxes are unbeatable.

Heavy duty case, strong controllers, etc. Have had a couple of General Music boards and have had some electrical and functional problems.

Not very performance-friendly (accessing sound banks during a song) but overall, an excellent value. No better board available for under $1000.
