This the easiest thing to use. Just plug it to anything that sounds
and push the buttons.

I think it has six instruments among snare, cymbal, claves which
can be played simultaneusly. That would be a polyphony of 6.
The features I like most are that you can mute one or certain sounds
as snare, cymbal, claves. Also you can press as much buttons as you
like, so different combinations of rhytms are played (some of them crazy if you press more than 4 buttons).
It has 16 different rhythm buttons. A power/volume knob and a tempo knob, start button. Two outputs Low out and Hi out and a start input
which triggers the unit by a simple switch.
For its time this must have been versatile

The sounds are really cool, old, but cool. This analog sounds are really punchy, bright and clean. I sampled some of this sounds
on the Triton, did some experiments with the waves and created
some nice patches (they sound unique).
I will probably sample the rhytms to give some songs an authentic oldie mood.
These analog sounds are very pure because it's synthesis is made with nothing but resistors, capacitors, inductors, just passive elements.(I couldnt resist the need to open it)
I would say these sounds are "sui generis".

Sure you can depend on it. Its very resistant, no digital or fragile
stuff to take care of. Rain, dust & heat resistant. I left it once outdoors for a month and nothing that a moisten cloth could not do.
The enclosure just needed a little wood oil.

If it were lost or stolen there's nothing to be done as it is too old.
This thing has been in my home about 20 years, one day i found it in a closet. There is a famous latin singer named Shakira who uses the
Cha-Cha rhythm of this instrument(if not, it sounds exactly the same)on a song of her first album.
Anything classic and well preserved is a fantastic value.

this is a preset rhythm accompaniment box
its best feature is that it comes in a lovely wooden box to go on top of your hammond organ, with a fantastic little wooden flap that locks in place to become a music stand.
no.
its best feature is that it sounds *fantastically* sh*t, and that is why I love it.

These sounds are not realistic
they are rudimentary analogue attempts to represent drum sounds
they are phat
but pretty sine wavey...
if you dig bossa nova, samba, beguine, tango, this pisses all over that other great comedy rhythm option, the casiotone, for sheer phatness.

I would depende on this box.
In the twenty five years it has spent on this earth other people have given it far more knocks than I ever will and it is still going strong.
could do with a lick of varnish maybe

If I lost it I guess I wouldnt buy it again.
I'd buy some other weird old drum machine though
I mean, you can sample them, but you never will, will you, unless its sat in your room
This machine rocks my socks off
mainly because it cost me twenty quid
