I was intimidated at first, then with the help of others found that this machine was not as difficult as it appears.
Features

I haven't had any problems with the polyphony. Compared to other boards I own, there is no comparison the way the K2600 plays and feels. The sequencer is offers any qualities that can be found on any computer.
Expressiveness/Sounds

In my opinion, there is no comparison in the sound category. I own several boards and use the K2600 as the standard for there sounds.

Haven't had it that long, but so far, so good.

I don't have to deal with the company, the store that I bought it from is unbelievable when it comes to customer support.

I love this board, and it will be a part of my arsenal forever. I have every option installed with the exception of the Rom block 4 (because its not out yet) and the digital interface. I have a 9 gig hard drive installed just loaded with sounds. I don't think that I will ever need another board.

Sup Guys! I have O.S. 3.01. The sounds are mad tight, especially the real instruments. Editing is straight up logical and DEEEEP as hell. There is at least 17 different filters and many more DSP's in VAST, which is the bomb for coloring your sounds, Then when you add KDFX to the equation this beast is a jugganaut! There isn't better sounding Fx in any synth/sampler out there that can rival KDFX( including Emu's RFX32!)And flexibility is Top notch. The manual is intelligently made and if ya need more help there is plenty of online support.

This beast's midi capabilities destroys all other workstations. 8 sliders w/switches 4 foot pedal inputs 2 foot switches 2 wheels 2 ribbons and 2 left hand panel switches. Almost all are assignable to any of the midi control sources( an looooong list of them). Can be expanded with 4 rom boards 128megs of sample ram, seq/prog ram digital in/outs. Has 48 voice poly and they are beautifully allocated. If you have any polyphony shortage be sure to use the Ram tracks feature. This sample any seq, track live play from board internally with or w/o the FX and links it to a sequencer program, and that program can have up to 32 layers, Thus turning all those notes into 2 voices of polyphony stereo 1 if you make it mono. KDFX has up to 4 insert fx and 1 glogal and on top of that up to 8 channels of E.Q.. The sound is sonically amazing I had no problem saying goodbye to my Lexicon! Again if you want more FX use ram tracks and make it happen. Oh ram tracks can also take live audio from outside sources and link them to the seq. With 128 megs of sampling ram you have 24min of audio mono, 12 stereo. I use it mono because you can always make the signal stereo w/KDFX. I have built a huge sound library because the K2600S can read roland, akai, ensoniq, wave and aiff sounds so you can imagine the possibilities! There isn't one other workstation on this market that can see this feature set, Not the Motif, Or the Triton STUDIO even, which only has cd burning on the K2600.

The sound is so HOOOOOOT! SO many tricks. If you can imagine a texture you can make it on the K26.

If you are looking for the secret weapon this is it! Sure everyone is talking about the Triton studio and the Motif, The whole Idea around the Motif sampling to the sequencer was a OS upgrade for the K2500 and was standard on the K2600 at its launch( ram tracks)and the K2600 came out a year before the Motif! Please One test drive with the K2600 will make you see that the others are toys in comparison even if they are good keyboards. Like I said the only thing it can't do is burn a disc I can do this and I don't have a computer, or make music with a computer! I'd probably kill the person who tries to steal it.

Sory for my English - I'm from Poland and didn't write good in it.
I'm using 3.01 O.S. version, The preset sounds are very good but (for me) is to less drum and pad sounds onboard (I miss my Ensoniq Mr pads and drum sets)- I have to use some ensoniq samples. So the keys, brass, analog and strings pathes are so great!!!!
I did't edit sounds so often, well - I cant tell so much about it, sometimes if I want to remake some sound it is pretty easy to do.
The manual is so deep - but full and clear.

The polyphony is 48 - somebody are disappointed with it but probably They don't no about it so much (I'ts realy 48 notes polyphony)so - you can play 48 sounds in one time it doesn't matter how many keys you play in one time - (for example if you play piano program - you can press down 76 keys in one time)- the polyphony is o.k.
Keyboard is one of best. There is very good efects processor, grat, easy in use sequencer. You can Expand very much things - sounds, sample and sequencer memory, inputs, outputs etc. almost everything.

The instruments and effects are very realistic, good for every kind of music, it plays very expressive and dynamic.

I can always depend on it, I never had any problems with my K2600.I expand the memory by my self and everything is great.
I don't no why somebody describe K2600 so negative (I'm not a salesman in music store) but I never hear'd any noise in k2600 ?????!!!!!...

I would buy it again even more - it's incedible machine. I'm play on it about two years and i LOVE it. There is just two bad things 1. Its VERY VERY heavy 2. It's to expesive. So - one more bad thing - the switches on the panel are not to good they are very delcate and so many of them are loose in my k2600 (but still works). VERY GOOD opinion about K2600.

Version 2.20 beta. The presets sound astounding in a natural, real way
If you looking for the processed korg sound or compressed roland sound
buy a roland or korg. Editing on any Kurzweil is like exploring a
solarsystem, not for beginners, or instant gratification. the manual
and the keyboard are deep and comprehensive.

The sequencer is the best on a board 32 tracks with bells and whistles
. Not as user friendly as a computer but almost all of a computers
features. The effects are world class sound wise and very flexible. 4
insert buses and 1 aux bus is dream to go. Now the K2600s has
48 voice polyphony, but check this out because it can sample itself and
link the sample to the sequencer (ram tracks-128 megs of samp. ram is
24 minutes of audio)You free up sequencer tracks, fx buses and polyphony
for use all over again, so technically polyphony limits don't matter!
K2600s has room for 4 rom board full of sounds sample ram and seq. ram
all user installable. midi cont. include 8 sliders 2 ribbons and 2
wheels! no competition dudes!

proof. end of story
