a super easy layout. easy to understand without looking at the manual. only the details under the surface concerning modulation need to be read about.

a monosynth but VCO phat! and it just do what it do! compared to my mopho, which has more features and is a lot cheaper but a different beast. usb and midi great. i use it with ableton live so arps and sequencing is easier from the software. what it lacks in bells and whistles it makes up for in sound.

it is a moog so expect moog sound! warm and phat but most of all modern. i won't compare it to other moogs simply because it has it's own advantages and disadvantages. it is one of the range of moog instruments. lets face it who gives a monkeys when you hear a phat bass on the dancefloor whether it is a prodigy or jupiter 8. if you are asking yourself these questions, you might need to get a life before making any analog synth purchase! the presets are ok but like presets, the need tweeking or complete reprogramming. overdrive is sweet and the filter is often used on plugins and drums! a pity it is mono though :(
envelopes and lfo's are fast.

even though with auto tuning and solid construction, i only rely at the moment on a macbook for live performance. knobs could be more sturdy but for studio use fine.

a modern interpretation of a classic synth. it's a definite keeper. intergrates very well in a minimal setup. reliable. well made. it sounds great and is well suited to modern music. nothing old school here except the moog sound which is always distinct no matter which moog you have. a great starting point for fx bass and leads. could be extended with moogerfoogers too and is better value for money than a voyager but they can only be compared on this point of choice. it has an interface and connections that make it really easy. no cv or going out of pitch. switch it on and make music. i would purchase it again if lost or stolen however the new price is a bit steep. if buying new i might consider the DSI mono evolver simply because it is better value for money but does sound quite different. second hand values are good 700-850 euros

I love this board..... I was actually gun shy, as I did not think it would be as deep as the other moogs I own.... but if you take the time and get under the hood...... boy oh boy ....

i'd like to address the instant gratification disease i find in many online reviews......you have to really dig into any gear you have, whether synth, effect, amp of software.... plus, look at the intended function of the piece in question ..... don't engage in cognitive dissonance by expecting features not in line with its intended function.....
a nord lead will not do the job of a moog nor will a moog do the job of a p08 and a serge modular will not do the job of an ems vcs3.
pro tools will not get your band to sound like led zep or the mc5.
mp3's are not albums.
virtual instruments are just that, virtually instruments-not instruments but an incredible simulation- obvious to anyony with experience with the actual gear.
get practing, get gigging and get out of your bedroom studio and computer.
