Ease of Use : 10
The manual is pretty thin. Fortunately, it's a no brainer. It's a stereo combo keyboard speaker, i.e. it's powered. 500 watts, 250 per side. It has two channels. Each channel has volume, expander, bass, mid, and treble controls. These controls actually work and do a lot to help tweak your sound. There's a master section with master volume and bass cut/boost. You can plug an XLR mic into channel two, (no phantom power), and it has XLR outs R/L for your p.a. It can also slave another similar unit with a 5 pin din (midi) type plug and has a 1/4" out for a powered sub. It has a 12" speaker and two horns on each side. It weighs 48 pounds, so you can lift it and move it to your vehicle easily at 1:30 a.m. without a trip to your orthopedic surgeon. It's stereo so it's going to do your electric piano stereo vibrato pans and stereo piano samples the justice they deserve.

See above for features. The expander helps add stereo effect, since you don't have a lot of physical separation between Right and Left sides on this cabint. It has four 1/4" unbalanced inputs for each channel, two pairs of left and right. If you want to run mono, go into the right input in either channel. I haven't gigged with it yet, so there are two things I don't know: 1. will it cut through in a louder rock and roll setting and 2. Does it have enough bass to play my Diversi organ in a Jazz trio with guitar, where I play L.H. bass. I'll get back to you on that.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
It sounds good. I am running a Roland RD700GX into it. I will also be running my Diversi Duo into it. It's good enough for Joey DeFrancesco, it should work for me. Accurate and responsive. I'll know more when I gig. It should be noted that even with the controls maxed it is quiet, with some perceptible hiss. It's quieter than most any tube guitar amp around. Stereo is is nice on panned rhodes sounds.

Reliability : No Opinion
It doesn't appear that Motion Sound cut corners on construction. It's solid and portable. I don't find their manufacturer's warranty to be particularly generous. Warranties are not transferrable from original owner. 90 days on speaker components (no too confident in their components or the way I may use them?), 1 year on cabinet and electrical.

Customer Support : 9
I've had some email correspondence with this company prior to purchase. They were helpful in getting back to me and giving me details I requested. If they're that responsive on a repair, we'll be in good shape. Kudos to Randy at 8th St. Music for ordering the unit from Motion Sound and saving gas, shipping and time by having Motion Sound drop ship it directly to me!

Overall Rating : 9
As noted above, once I use this with my organ, I'll be able to comment on whether a sub woofer is necessary for lower volume jazz organ trio stuff where I play L.H bass. And I'll be able to futher comment on the overall power, clarity and balls of the unit once I gig with my piano. More to follow. So far, so good!
