Editing new patches is easy. And once you master the patch creations it is a great add on to your set. Especially live its my life saver. Since I have 5 synths on stage I can switch presets on all 4 synths by just switching to the next song in the setlist in my MC 2000.

4 midi outs,2 midi ins, 2 midi thru's, some nice sounds in the expansion board. Dynamic curves for the sensitivity. Great Keyboard action.
I wouldnt sell it for the world. One thing. Its a bit heavy and flightcased even more so.
And being on tour without the luxury of roadies this gave some complaints of other band members ;).

Almost forgot one of the features. I couldnt get a certain midi command to be send to my Korg Triton. This was fixed quickly you can record midi commands, store them and send them back to any keyboard in a later stage. A real usefull add on.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 7
For the female fronted metal band im in I mostly use the choir from the expansion board and sometimes the strings. The rest of the sounds are nice but just not for the style of music that I use it for. The piano sounds are pretty decent but with another stage piano at hand those are not really needed.

Reliability : 10
It's decent. Everything is made to survive being on the road.
Never failed me not on stage not in our studio.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 8
If I lost it I would buy a new one.
Its such a great tool. The best thing is that I use it to create presets with using sounds of 3 or even 4 synths at the same time. Being able to create a wall of sound and using the best sounds of all my other gear and combining them into 1 preset.
One example, I use a nice pad sound from my trinity and add a really raw lead/bass sound from my analog synth. And simply play them together using the MC2000.

Wouldnt trade it for the world!

Editing patches is straightforward. Once you've mastered the menus, I found it really easy to create new patches, often using existings ones as a template.
Manual is OK, but once you've got to grips with the instrument, you won't refer to it again.

I bought the MC2000 EX version, so it's already expanded, using the Viscount (mint choc' biscuit!?) OP-1 board, providing good piano samples, as well as others including a great Oberheim horn pad. There are other sound banks available (not described in the manual - Have a dig and you'rr find them!!) 2 midi in's, 2 midi thru's and 4 midi out's. 3 assignable wheels, 4 assignable sliders. Versatile stuff!

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Although there are a limited number of sounds available from the onboard expansion, it really does work well as a stage piano. Main piano samples are bright and work well in a live environment. Keyboard action is actually very good, and the available dynamic response curves make the instrument very playable.

Reliability : 10
Does the job - Solid.

I believe it's only available in the UK through Turnkey. I've had no problems so far.

Overall Rating : 10
As a master keyboard it's great. Much lighter (kg) than my old KX-88, and the expansion make this a serious stage piano. For the money, I don't think there's anything else available to touch it. OK, spend an extra #500, and you can get an excellent stage piano from Roland or Yamaha, but you won't have the flexability that this keyboard provides as a master board in your studio. Try it !

Very easy of use and good functionality

Features : 2
The keyboard quality is good but the response of single key are different...I have try 3 mc2000 and all of 3 have the same problem: if the response of C4 is 100 midi value, the C#4 at the same velocity play 120 midi value! This isn't acceptable!!!

Expressiveness/Sounds : 4
No sounds on board without expansion....but the expansion have poor poor sounds.

Reliability : No Opinion

Customer Support : 6
Good customer support but they was not able to resolve keyboard sensitivity problems...sorry, I have sold mc2000.
Now I use a Kurzweil PC88.
