Ease of Use : 8
Simple to use, not a very complex device, easy for a new user to pick up. There are a few strange issues with it, data entry goes to both midi outs :( Also a few minor odd midi routing patterns.

Features : 8
Could use more data entry sliders or some knobs. Joystick not as nice as the joystick found on korg keyboards.

Absolutely love the feel of the keyboard, it's one of the best I've ever used.

Expressiveness/Sounds : No Opinion
No sounds.

Reliability : 9
Never had any problems with it yet, other than the above.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
Great controller for the price, cannot beat the feel of the keyboard.

Controls are laid out fairly intuitively, but it's a bit hard to navigate with the multi-function buttons and 3 digit LCD display.

Features : 9
Does bread and butter MIDI functions. Like other Roland keyboards, for quick switching, each patch contains settings for 'upper' and 'lower', with buttons allowing switching between them or layering. However, the problem I had with the unit is that the controller data (from the slider, expression pedal and pitch/mod joystick) all get sent to BOTH the upper and lower patch simultaneously, despite whichever mode is selected. (i.e. say you set 'upper' to MIDI channel 1 and 'lower' to 2. You can switch between sending note on/off data from either MIDI channel 1 or 2, but the data slider and expression pedal get sent to BOTH 1 and 2). This is problematic, because you can change a setting while playing the 'upper' patch, and unintentionally mess up whatever is receiving for the 'lower' patch.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
No sounds, but I really liked the feel of the board. Better than any other synth-action keyboard I have tried.

Reliability : No Opinion

Tried to call Roland about the controller data problem, but they weren't too helpful, so I ended up returning the unit.

A really nice controller. Much lighter than my old A-70, with a much better feel to the keys. Unfortunately, the problem I mentioned above made me return it.

This is a Midi-Controller. No on-board sounds.

Features : 10
This controller is the latest in Rolands family of A-model controllers. It has features to enable you to controller whatever flavor of external source you are using.
The keys are synth weighted, full size(waterfall). I use this with a Voce V5 and the touch is like a nice tight Hammond. The keys are very responsive and works excellent for my organ requirements.
Might not be satisfying to the piano purist.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
Again this has no on-board sounds. It has adjustable velocity curve and aftertouch with an assignable slider. GM-GS compatible and will store programmed settings and sounds.

Reliability : 9
Very dependable. I gig with this board as a Organ controller with my Voce V5. Piano used is a Kurzweil SP76 (see review).

This board has a sturdy feel to it. It doesn't feel like it's going to break. I do a lot of slaps and glisses and it feel solid.

Haven't needed to.

I would buy another one. I've been playing for over 30 years and was a die-hard "Hammond is the only way" player for years. But the older I get the heavier the Hammonds get and the new digital equipment is just as good for clubs.

I investigated several controllers before settling on the new A-37.
Fatar seems too brittle. The problems that some of the A-33 owners reported don't seem to be existent in the A-37. Perhaps Roland listened!(?)
