No, no software... this is a crude, early 'electronic' piano... that is, there are no mechanical parts, just tiny chips. It's extremely easy to use, just plug it in and play.

Features : 2
This piano dates from 1973, and has four sounds: Piano I, Piano II, Harpsicord I, Harpsicord II, and a volume knob. There's a sustain pedal input.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 3
Well, it's not very expressive... there's no touch sensitivity. But it does sound vaguely like a piano... Piano I and II are really similar, I is a little softer. The harpiscord sounds are sort of bogus, but could come in handy if you dig the Stranglers' "Golden Brown" kind of sound.

Reliability : 6
Mmmmm... I don't know. It seems solid, but it's 30 years old and it's the first electronic piano EVER. It might be best to use it for recording and such...

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't think that Roland would be much help anymore, they've moved on to bigger fish.

Overall Rating : 6
This is obviously a very limited instrument, but the thing to do with a keyboard like this (or a Univox, Crumar, etc.) is to f*ck with it.... weird pedals, amp tremelo, chorus, distant miking... I've been able to get some good, ghostly Walkmenesque sounds. Am I the only guy in the world that owns this piano? I can't find anything on the web.
