Ease of Use

This is instrument is a simple 88-note piano action MIDI controller. It doesn't get much easier to operate than this.
Features

The keyboard action is terrifically good. If you want to play something that feels like a piano, and you don't care about advanced MIDI controller functions, this instrument will make you very happy. With a decent piano module or soft synth, it can create every expensive performances.
There are no built in sounds and no expansion capability. There is a pitch wheel and a mod wheel, which is important for a MIDI controller, but no aftertouch. It is possible to transmit MIDI program change numbers, and it's possible to adjust the velocity response of the keyboard. There's an input for a sustain pedal. That's about it.
One thing worth mentioning is that the top of the instrument is flat, which means that additional pieces of equipment--for example, MIDI drawbars for controlling a software or hardware organ module--can easily be put on top of it.
Expressiveness/Sounds
:
10
No sounds. The rating of 10 is for the keyboard, which is superb, especially in this price range. The M-audio Keystation 88 Pro, which sells for about the same price, has a keyboard action that's barely playable (although its MIDI controller functions are much more advanced). If you want something that plays like a real piano, get this. You can always put a 25-key USB keyboard with tons of sliders and pads on top of it if you want MIDI controller functions too.
Reliability
:
No Opinion
Had it for a week, and no gigging with it, so can't swear as to its reliability. But it's hard to see what could go wrong with something as simple as this. My Studiologic SL-161 has been a reliable performer for years.

I've played keyboard for over 40 years. This instrument has one of the best keyboard actions I've seen on anything but a real piano. If you want a keyboard that responds to expressive playing, this is the least expensive option, and an overall good buy. I'd certainly buy another if it got lost or stolen.
