It's rather tricky to use a lot of the technical features of this keyboard but there is a very handy manual witch comes with it. I'm still taking lessons in piano and i have found that the soft plastic keys are't very good as they feel nothing like a real piano.

the midi on the keyboard is great! it has a lot of technical features such as sequencing and compossing but I havn't been bothered learning how to use these.

The instrument sounds are fairly unrealistic and i only tend to use the one piano sound. It has touch sensitivity witch is one thing you can't go without when buying a good keyboard. The effects aren't to good. The keyboard is good allround but isn't perfect in any one area

It is very reliable. I have had it for more than 3 years and havn't found any problems

I have owned this keyboard for 10 years, and must admit that it is quite easy to use. Although the manual does need work, the layout and pages allowed me to make the necessary adjustments. The one thing that I found is missing is an actual program/sound list along with the appropriate midi patch changes.

The keyboard action is very light... they keys are not weighted; which is expected; I believe the way the keys feel while playing is perfect; however, I latter decided to hook up a controller with 88-Hammer action and it has made a world of difference. The expansion capabilities are nonexistent, which is a pitty. I would have loved to be able to add/change sounds via expansion boards. Sequencer is very easy to use for on the spot recording; however, the step recording can be quite strenous. One of the features I would like to see on this keyboard is General Midi sounds and 16 midi channels instead of 8.

There are many sounds to choose from in this keyboard; however, my primary use are the piano sounds... I would have like to see more acousting piano variations. The E-Piano sounds are beautiful, as well as the wind instruments.

The fact that I have used this keyboard for 10 years.. even took it for several gigs, and one recording session, I definitely agree that this is one reliable instrument.

There is nothing available from Technics; no online manuals, or customer service numbers. Basically you are on your own.

This keyboard is definitely not worth 4 grands (which is what I paid new 10 years ago) There are so many other good keyboard out there; however I suppose it was quite good for a keyboard dated 1991. I will be replacing this instrument very soon, probably sell it for 150 bucks.

the sounds such as the soild guitar are so perfect for the keyboard of that age. the piano sounds are better than my two casio keyboards. The Patch editor is very easy to use and it allows me to get right into the sounds just like a synthesiser. The manual does not give me more infomation on midi. E.G reciveing midi system exclusive it just tells me to go to this page and its not on my keyboard. i don't know if the disk drive has any thing to do with.

The polyphony is fantastic for keyboard used for midi.
The built in effects are great for creating an atmosphere.
The only problem is that it cannot be ugraded. The midi section on my keyboard it doen't have bulk receive screen. I find this anoyying when do midi with it.
the sequencer is easy to use when recording live but step by step is very hard to use.

The sounds are very realistic and full like the saxphones and pianos and guitars. the strings and synth sounds are quite weak.
The effects make the sounds more fuller so they are fine.
the keyboards dynmaic systerm will not responed to my playing.
the keyboard has a great responce on when on a saxphone sound

if the keyboard was stolen I would miss it very much. If someone was selling the same keyboard at a good price I would buy it. The keyboard is worth every pound. the keyboard goes well with my two casios. Casio is also good make and I have had no Problems with them.
yamaha keyboards are to hard to program.
Only thing I wish it could be updated.
the keyboard reaches my standards.

easy to use when all functions of this device learned well. But for a starter it is hard to find the options of the sounds tempo and styles etc.Manual is not enouh to say everything about the keyboard.

8 channel sequancer is built in.Sequancer is so succesful for that time.It is not similar to the korg M1 style sequencer.star sign are used to specify the note places and the durations.Midi is particularly good but it is not general midi.Polyphony is limite by 32 sound.effects are so good for an average synth.

Very realistic lectric guitar souns (solid guitar etc) and basses are so real.Organ sounds and rotary speaker effects are impressive. But synth sound such as basic saw, square are not successful.Piano is good electro pianos are fantastic!Keyboard sensivity is perfect.

It is so reliable. It uses 3.5 inch floppy to save the styles sounds and songs. But it is not gm competiable this is so bad.

For Late 80s and early 90s those keyboards lead the keyboards.Roland and Korg follow them but today technichs is not known well this is terrible.
