Sounds are great for home use and small venues.Needs more in the manual dept. to get the max out of this unit.

Features : 9
Polyphony is 64,keyboard action is great for organ, accordianor synth player.Piano players will find it too light and flimsy.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Saxes, organs and some guitars are very good. Great for organ based styles effects are workable.the unit has plenty of control devices to assist in playing technic,ie. draw bar setting via selecter switches ect.

Reliability : 8
It seems dependable, will need extra care moving about. should not require a backup for the type of gig this instrument will find itself

Customer Support : No Opinion

I've owned a KN3000 and found that the layout is very user friendly.
Many times whether you're in concert or just playing at home the most
important feature is the sound explorer botton. Yes, so it has over
1200 sounds. The important thing is can you find the patch quickly.
And also... they've kept the same concept in all the KN series concerning
the layout. So, if you're familiar with one (my old KN3000) there isn't
such a huge learning curve for the KN7000. First time I played the
KN7000 it was like setting in an old Pontiac GTO... felt nice.
by the way.. the manual is better quality then the 3000.. go job! guys.

128 POLYPHONY is a huge plus in today's composing world. If you're
looking for a keyboard that is of this "pro" quality.. 128 is a must.
THE EFFECTS... There are a miriad of effects and the best thing is that
each effect can be tweeked endlessly to your liking. The effects are
so rich sounding. Believe me I've been in musinc 30+ years as an
educator and performer and I'm totally satisfied with the endless amount
of possibilities concerning the creation of effects.
EXPANSION CAPABILITIES are available concerning the Wave Expansion
Board line-up. ie. Pop Production / Movie Production / Vintage Keyboards / and Super Sound Selection.
Now I've not heard any of these expansion boards yet, but the reviews
I've read have been very favorable. Remember, it's socked full of features.
The learning curve is short, but remember you'll be playing
this keyboard for months still finding new features you didn't know
existed. I run my Taylor 814ce guitar through the keyboard (sounds sweeet!)
and sing through a mic (also through the keyboard). I've used it for coffee shops
and the like. I run a line out into an old Bose Lifestyle sound
system. (Just a little reinforcement for larger venues)

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
SAMPLED SOUNDS is all I need to say. It's the real thing.. NOT cheep,
thin little digital remakes of sounds.. BUT the real thing. Let's
face it.. what matters in an instrument is... Does it sound awesome
or not? Let me say this...Playing the KN7000 is like Playing a Taylor
guitar over a Epiphone. (I own both, so I know) If it sounds like crap,
then don't get it. But in this case.. the sounds are awesome. Piano, organ,
synth pads, strings, voices... they all sound rich and full. and by the
way.. are all adjustable through effects. The touch of the manual is
very tight(high end). Not so wiggly (cheep)like the KN3000. Much better.

Reliability : 10
You need to know that technics keyboards are built rugged.
I had a time where my KN3000 got knocked over on to
a hard floor. NOTHING happened to it. Try that Yamaha!
The Kn7000 seems to be the same.. built very well. Although,
I'm not going to drop it anytime soon.

Customer Support : 10
I've only had to call once ot twice.. and both times were concerning
the price of these new keyboards. Anyway, the guys at Technics are
very cool.. and know there stuff. And also, thanks for giving out
the suggested retail price for the KN7000. The used to not do this
over the phone, but now they do. Very helpfull!!

If it were lost... I'd look to replace it. That's how confident I am with
this product. I've been a musician forever it seems and I play many
instruments...What I like the most is to be able to perform with an
instrument as well as relax in the quiet of the home. I've compared the
technics KN3000 and Kn7000 with Yamaha, Korg, Roland... and have found that
all the keyboards will have a variety of "bells & whistles" and some
are pretty cool. But for me it all boils down to sound. You've got to
test drive this KN7000 for about a week to fully understand the capabitilties
of the keyboard. I find it funny... that all the companies demos sound
awesome. But, they din't come close to the KN7000's. You've got to
do more then just listen to the demo of any keyboard. Take one home
and embrace it. It's just like holding my Taylor.. Ooo..Ahh..

manaul not perfect but better than others I have had

Features : 9
128 poly (useable 128 - not like psr9000)
great sequencer - the best out there
plenty of effects all programmable
makes digital audio with pc through usb, can play back audio from SD memory card

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
best I've heard, spent a day side by side with tyros. Most 7000 sounds far more realistic - tyros mega voices very over hyped for what they are

7000 best for jazz, good latin, great big band, best for organ fanatics, expansion cards give good synth choices

Reliability : 10
found technics to be very reliable

Customer Support : 8
improved lately with web site and free style support

Overall Rating : 9
yes, definitely
owned yamaha, solton, roland (not again), gem (disaster)

Incredibly Easy to use, same layout as 6000/6500. Super complex editing capabilites are very simple on this monster of a machine thanks to the large color LCD screen. VERY Well laid out. Manual is decent. Took me about 30 minutes to write a song from scratch.

Features : 10
128 note polyphony. If only it was weighted 88 keys... but still, just hook up the p-50 and there you go.. What Doesnt this thing do? 16 track sequencer, Full dsp effects processor (top notch effects too!)It can be expanded 4 times. Full midi implementation. Thousands of accompanyment rhythms, perfect for scoring and backround music. Over 1300 sounds- You can import Live audio to sync. Now get this- Matshusta ( parent company of Panasonic and Technics) decided to skip the whole cd rom thing and go strait for Solid state. SD!!!! trust me- when you can put a 4 gig drive on something the size of a postage stamp and have no moving parts (ie no lasers to skip) you are on the right track- this leads me to the capabilites for full length video... you can as of now import your own digital pictures and set them to the music, eventually (per the technics rep) as soon as SD can hold enough memory ( a year or so) you can import full length video right to the KN and then output it on a Video out.. Think of the Possibilites with A live show. This machine is a chameleon.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
this is what sets the kn7000 apart from the field. Period. end of story. anyone who says this thing has "thin" or "wavy" sound needs to have their hearing checked. Find me a better recorded live drum set (the 7000 has over 40 sets and 8 live ones to boot) find me a better Grand Piano sample (they sampled a 9 foot steinway at RCA studios in Japan.)Remember, this is the largest electronics company in the world making a Keyboard- they have the money. Find me better sampled voices or better sampled Woodwinds or Strings,Try the Live Nylon Guitar or the brilliant Folk guitar. they are the shit!- Digital Drawbars sampled from a B3, new organ tabs- hell they even sampled a Full French accordian register (why.. I have no Idea, but they did) This machine is perfect for every type of music- I write everthing from gangsta rap to new age enya type stuff. I even heard from the rep that there is going to be a new expansion board put out this winter with over 300 NEW soloist sounds. NX is the best. Period.

Reliability : 10
I have never had a single Technics Piano or Keyboard break on me or crash on me- the worst thing I have heard is of people blowing speakers every now and then. Technics builds their Digital pianos and Keyboards like TANKS. Panasonic even builds the Laptops for the US military- the ones they drop from planes. these machines do not die. (1 year parts and labor warranty)

Customer Support : 10
Dealt with them- even friends with the rep- very nice people- never had any problems, but I have called and asked some tech questions and they know their stuff- get back to me within a couple of hours.

Overall Rating : 10
If it only has onboard full sampling capabilites it would put Yamaha, Korg and Roland out of business. Put I sample anyway on my computer, and if I ever need to play it live I will just import the phrase into the sd card.
