Simple Vintage Electric Piano. Not sure why other reviewers call this a synthesizer. It's not!

On Board Phaser. Two separate outputs, one for the normal sounds and one for Bass. This is one of my favorite features

Haven't had it that long, but since it such a simple keyboard I don't expect any major problems.

Hey the Beatles used it, so it can't be that bad.

it's to old... no hope of finding a manual with it, not that you really need one either
There's not much to use... but what little it has is right out in the open. It was, however before the age of userfriendly electronics... it's just toggle switches, no LEDs or displays or digital voices.... just good old fashioned clunky analog
It does tend to detune itself on a regular basis, however the tunning control is a slider right on the front of the thing, so it's rarely a problem

Certainly no expansion, or midi, or sequencing as it's not a digital instrument.
I was amazed that there was actually an onboard phaser built into this old dinosaur, but it's right there with a slider for the phase rate right next to the one for tuning... it really makes for some of the most interesting sounds this beast can come up with
for some reason, it has two separate outputs, one for the normal sounds and one for only the Bass synth (see below). can't figure out exactly how I this could be usefull
The keys need a bit more push than today's standard unweighted keyboard, which might bother some thought I dont mind it, there's no velocity or aftertouch sensetivity.... just on or off.
Lastly there's a lot of line noise from this unit, just switching it on will give me static in the background... not sure if they all do this or mine came pre-busted

extreeemly limited here.... there's only three choices for sound, (I wouldn't even call them "patches" since it's not digital). beyond that, there's a slider for altering the timbre and the phaser I mentioned above.
There's also a Bass voice on the thing which sounds quite similar to an electric bass guitar, even though it's limited to the bottom octave of the keyboard so you can play the normal sounds and the Bass at the same time.
I've actually gotten the most out of this thing when I take it's limited sounds and run it through a zoom 505 gutiar FX pedal... the sounds can be a bit dirty and crude... but I like that in my tracks. On it's on there's not much though
I can see this working just about anywhere you need an older sound, perhaps 80's rock or synthpop or such.... I use it as an extra bizare sound for techno/electronica and as a third board to fill my 3-tier keyboard stand and make me look like a pro onstage

I got this thing when it was headed for the garbage... so I've never expected too much from it. Lots was broken already, (a key was stuck down, the sound would get scratchy when you messed with the knobs too much)
I can't see it really breaking as it's such a simplistic instrument.... I gig with it in confidance that if it breaks, well, it wasn't that usefull anyway

N/A - doubt any would be available on this ancient thing, but then I've never tried

as usefull as it is, I wouldn't mourn this old thing more than ten minutes if it were lost or stolen.
I picked it up when my school was litterally gonna toss this thing out and I figured "hey, free stuff, new sounds". obviously it's been more than worth what I payed for it, but if I had any sort of real budget for new gear, this thing would never even occur to me.
It can certainly add flavor to a limited gear setup, especially if you, like me, dont exactly have the cash for a real synth.
But dont go paying hundreds of dolars for this thing on Ebay or such with promises of "authentic, vintage sounds" and crap.... spend your money on newer gear
THe sounds are trashy and analog, and if that's the kind of sound you really crave, it's completely authentic in that sense.

Very easy to use, only a few toggle switches and slides. However there are many possible combinations if you play around with it.
Only complaint is the key action takes a bit to get used to. I guess I'm just used to keyboards with some key sensitivity. These keys are like on/off switches.
They either sound or they don't.

Nice analogue phaser effect on here. It sounds great and may be modified easily with a slide on the front of the synth.
the solo bass feature is nice and warm, sounds a lot like a string bass, especially on "walking bass" left hand work if that's your thing.
The bass also has a seperate volume knob which comes in handy.

I really like the piano sound on here, It's doesn't have that Tinny sound a lot of synths put on their piano sounds
The clavichord combined with the phaser effect has a cool 70's sound to it
I like the sounds of this synth because it shows it's age, but isn't too cheesy

I just got this so I don't know how reliable it is. I was suprised to find this synth in such good shape.
Everything works perfectly on it except on key which sticks. Really looking forward to working it into a jam

I could be biased because this is my first vintage synth, and I've been looking for one for quite awhile.
Just happened to stumble upon this at a folk music shop! Sounds great with my Fender Rhodes Mark I
I think it's worth more than the 100$ I paid for it.
