Most of the presets sound good. I use the mars control module with plenty of knobs, so tweaking the sound is quite easy. Even without it, navigating menus is fairly straightforward for anyone with experience in editing analoge synthesizers. The manual is adequate. There are still some quirks in the user interface which make reading it necessary, therefor I give an 8.

Fully featured for a classic analog synthesizer. Separate glide/protamento on the oscillators a bonus. MIDI implementation is good.

Make no mistace here, in the sound department MARS is in the same league as great synthesizers of the past. I can compare it to Pro One and Arp Avatar, and and it holds its own. So if you want a unique yet classic analog sound in a modern package, get this one by all means.

The knobs on this synthesizer (control unit, to be precise) look very expensive (they are metal) but this can be deceptive as they are connected to potentiometers on the PCB, which don't look too sturdy or reliable to me. I had to glue two of the knobs to their shafts as they became loose. Not a major problem. I can understand the manufacturer in that they used cheaper pots to keep the cost of the synthesizer down -- there are MANY posts on the control surface which I'm sure the analog afficionados will appreciate.
Of course I wish they used cheap plastic knobs and expensive pots (the opposite of the current design).

I give it a solid 9. It delivers the real analog sound with stability, reliability and tons of programmability. I own/have owned a wide variety of gear hence I have plenty to compare with. I would in fact try to buy it again even if I have to sell some other analog gear that I have.

I am not shure about OS version. But who cares? The presets sound fat but as soon as you start to tweak the knobs at the MARS control... Very impressive! Very agressive! You can get any sound from cat`s scream to ferry`s horn. Editing pathes is very simple - just keep tweaking the f1111ng knobs!Without MARS control this device is another dull synth. Manual? I checked manual just once for proper connections.

No sequencer. No FX. I couldn`t change volume, pan, etc of Vermona via my Cubase(that`s a good question how to manage it)But it really doesn`t matter - Vermona SOUNDS!

Is a dog barking realistic? Are the sounds of working steam engine also realistic? What is reality and what is virtuality? Well, there are no real pianos or horns, no bells and no flutes - forget it..

If it was lost I will try to replace it with some other gear I never tested before.Let`s say "Technosaurus". What is better I `ll be able to say only afterwards

MARS stands for Mono Analog Rack Synth and pretty easy to operate. The main unit is a 1U with a couple of controls and LCD display. [thats the only thing digital about it]
The editing is really simple and the manual helps really well.

The MARS also has a second controller unit that is full of knob to twidlle. So this is packed with features and all are hands on and in real time.

Sounds are typical agressive analog. No digital tinges whatsoever. A very fat synth a it best.

Seem a great unit that I would rely on even at a gig or on the road.
