Very easy to use. with preset EG and LPF settings

Features : 3
Quite limited synth engine

Expressiveness/Sounds : 3
Sound is basic and powerful, but better than you might guess at the first time you see it. The keyboard is terrible and makes the think unplayable. It could be used for sampling and phrase loop creation.

Reliability : 9
No problems

I sold it and do not miss it.

the panel is tidied up and functions are rudimentary.

Features : 4
first of all its monophonic, having a character of a noise/fx source or a very remarkable instrument for solo-parts.
the keyboard though is terrible. one can get used to it but at first you have to train your fingermuscles. then it has a quite good blues-feeling.
you can connect a footsweller but im not sure for what it is. i guess volume or cutoff. connecting a switch just turns any sounds off if used. the pitch and modulation wheels are bad quality and cannot be turned very fast but they have a long way and stay as unique.
no midi or cv.
no effects except maybe vcf-lfo and vibrato.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
the sound are rather wild.
at first this synth, or at least mine, has some strange problem with tuning. this results in wonderfull alive sounds wich always match your playing. though without velocitysense there can be received different velocities through always holding down one keys, so the envelope will not be reset and you can play through the release- or whatever period. the glide sounds good and ranges up to long times.
but even if glide is turned off the oscillators do react incorrect sometimes but will get stable after a few seconds, which can lead to very psychadelic harmonies.
through the hard to play keyboard i would use this synth most for pads, effects and short tricky solos. the filter can sound very wet and together with that dirty raw VCOs you can archive cool funky stuff.
but the best category of all is the bass. one can turn resonance to max without worry and the bass will only get more powerfull. one has to very adjust the volume by chanching between bass and nonbass sounds. the bass will always be quiter. a compressor can be a fantastic idea, also for another reason. the vcf has no keyboardtracking so some notes get very quite while other may clip in the mixer, etc...
finally,
i love this sound! and im whilst to get strong and fast fingers so for playing this keyboard like if it would be a good one.

Reliability : No Opinion
this synthesizer works. mine works too, and if it someone breaks it will not be too hard to repair it. either by myself, or a lot of old electronic-studied genleman who will probably know this synthi from their owm past times, or i can go directly to klingental where, one of the gentleman pretended that, one member is still left from old vermona resources, living in his wooden house, repairing old synthesizer.
i would. do and will use this fantastic instrument on stage without attention.

i would maybe buy this again. if, then not more than ?300
together with say a korg polysix which produces much more stable sounds one has already a huge soundscape with very different accents.
this mashine is a great help for fastly building a new keyboard lick or a bass run and it sounds, besides the volume differencies, like already and finally mastered.
for me it looks like pure lsd and i love old gdr-stuff anyway, so i found a real good friend.

This is a real analog synth, made in East Germany in 70's-80's, very popular USSR, now in Russia and ex-USSR countries, no software versions of coarse - real wood panels, 2 oscillators, jack output, LFO, 4 knobs for filter (res, cut off, brillance & contour), (nice 24 db filter!) glide, 2 modulation wheels and some envelope generator patches.
Presets is not bad, but if you want to create a really great sound - u can do it in minutes. Editing is very easy and intuitive, like most of monophonic synths
German manual absolutely useless

Vermona synthesizer is a monophonical 2 osc synth with a great moogish sound, no effects and awfull keyboard action
It has no expansion capibilities (maybe pedals:), no midi and no CV gate, no sequencer

Expressiveness/Sounds : No Opinion
Sounds are very expressive, Moog like (in Germany some people call it Zonenmoog)
It work well for any types of music, like any true analog synth.
Vermona synthesizer has not a velocity sence or aftertouch - old analog stuff!

Reliability : No Opinion
It's a tank!

East Germany now is a part of a united Germany - I think it's impossible to find any support for this vintage gear.

Overall Rating : 5
If it were lost or stolen I'll buy another one immidiatelly!
I'm an owner of a long list of gear, (SCI, Korgs, Oberheims, Rolands, E-mu, Yamahas, Kurzweils etc.) and playing piano since my 3 years (I'm a professional pianist)and synths - since my conservatory studing years (1980-85), and I love any interesting well sounding synthesizer, especially a vintage synthesizer:)
I can compare Vermona synth to Moog Rogue or Moog Prodigy.
I use this synth in my compositions very seldom, because I'm an owner of another, well midied synths, which u can easy use with a sequencer, but Vermona synth always stays in my studio - so rarety and nice wooden thing with a deep cello voice.
