A fantastic keyboard or organ if you have the Duo Version5 very nice PRESETS Ok I tend to play on the Fly but there are many diffirant sounds to get your head round Editing not to difficult Read the Manual follow the steps There are 3 manuals with v5 you need a fair bit of free time to get to grips with it all, problem is in the u.k there is little if at all back up from Wersi u.k evern if it still exists? Peter Armitage is your only hope he is like Gold to get hold of but Does a really good job Please can we have more like Peter in the U.k . The 1 Year garrantee is not enuogh for such an expensive instrument such as the abacus And it is not cheap to get Peter out when you need him, but on the whole im Wersi through and through so I think the Abucus is a remarkable tool

Features : 6

I have Exlpained earlier that Wersi in uk is practically none exsistant tis a shame that roy has not got on with Germany or visa versa anyway I depend on Peter Armitage for genrall assistance and anything Major. No disrespect Peter is very friendly and does a great job but he has to come out from Halifax And I live in Cannock Staffs.

If it were stolen I would proberbly get a slightly lighter key board saying that Im an Organist rather than a key board player . Im 45 years old now I started doing gigs at the age of 15 its a fantastic peace of kit Wersi is my first choice I do like the look of the Yamaha psr 3000 but im not struck on there Organ sounds . I wish the Abucus had the original wersi Drawbar system with 11 upper drawbars and some prucusive drawbars and 2 peadal voices instead of one it makes it a bit thin in the bass department I would have gladly paid a bit more for the instrument .

I'm using OAS version 4.1 R11
Presets are really good from the fabric - and I make some really good by myself, I think... :)
It's easy to use - and extremely fun to play! :)
The manual is ok. :)

Features : 10
Polyphony: 144 (i think) The keyboard action is great.
Upgradable every way you can imagine - hardware and software. You're not bound to choose between 40 cards where you can select 2 (hint, hint, Yamaha...)
MIDI - very good

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
Every single instrument is extremely realistic and natural. They are easy to use. The quality in sound of the Abacus is the very best awailable in the world! No other brands come even close to this. Wersi are far above the other actors when it comes to sound quality. They can't be reached. Other brands have 48, 64, 92, 128 MB or something like that (small amount of MB) divided between thousands of sounds. In the Wersi OAS, the piano sound itself is 30-45MB - alone! :) It says a lot, but it has to be heard in order to be believed! :) And it will take time until you believe it then, too... :)

Reliability : 10
You can depend on the Abacus, I would have used it on a gig...
It's a Windows XP based PC inside, so you CAN crash it if you really want. But you can always restore if something happens. Nothing has happened to mine.

As an IT technician and professional, I think it won't crash as much as regular computers because you won't be installing and removing programs all the time... And other stuff you'll do regular with a computer. By the way, the Windows XP is a special version for Wersi, so they have thought of everything. :)

Customer Support : 10
The greatest support I've ever experienced here in Norway. I've also been given extremely good service from Wersi Germany pr e-mail in some questions I've had. :)

Overall Rating : 10
The Abacus and the other Wersi OAS instruments are expansice, but worth every single dollar / Euro / NOK. I will never change my Wersi Abacus for anything - except from a Wersi Scala or Louvre... ;) They are my dream instruments (full pedals, more manuals and so on...), but the Abacus is the best keyboard available in this world, and if i should buy an instrument today (and didn't have the Abacus), that's the keyboard I would have chosen. It's great! :)

Another thing: Wersi instruments are not heavy priced. Instead of changing instrument line every year (like Yamaha, Technics and so on...), these instruments are upgradable via CD-ROM, to a fraction of the cost of swapping instruments. It's not possible to compare those costs, by the way. Normally, you will loose 50% of the paid amound when you're selling an old keyboard, then you'll have to save 50% more + a little more, then you can buy the new model. This, you won't need with Wersi. They are upgradable in hardware and software ways, and both functions and sounds, styles and so on can be upgraded. The OS of the PC, too, of course... And components.

Wersi Abacus makes making music as fun as it can be. I've never enjoyed music this much, and can't even imagine how it must be to own a Wersi Louvre!!! :)

I am using the original version of the OAS (open architecture system)and the preset sounds sound superb. With some experience in the synthesizer world the sounds are quite easy to change. They also have their own effect session. And things will only become better with the OAS, which is plain old windows based

Features : 10
Imagine this keyboard has everything you ever dreamth about. It even has an own internet connection to download styles and AOS patches, sounds and songs. The sequencer is great and the style section is awfull. The effects sound between descent and awfully nice. The keyboard action is nice when your an organ or synth player but not weighted. You can expand this dream beyound your wildest expections. Vocalist, larger harddrives, CD burner, More drawbars. (yes it has drawbars to play them awesome organ sounds. Think of it or you can put it in this machine.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 10
B3, i haven't touched my B3 since this baby arived two weaks ago. the Organ sounds are just to real with awesome rotation effects. And the rests of the sounds are certainly the best i have ever heard in a keyboard. And when that just is not enough load some samples. But i guarantee you the best sounds ever in a keyboard or organ.

Reliability : No Opinion
Well what can i say after two weeks. No system crashes yet. Played my first gigs on it this weekend and that was fun. seems a nice machine for live gigs

Customer Support : No Opinion
well my local dealer is awful good with his support. When this baby will ever breaks down on a gig. He gets in his car and brings me another Acabus to play the rest of the gig on. Now that is support so always buy at your local dealer. About Wersi support i dunno because my dealer takes care of that.

Overall Rating : 9
This is the best ever keyboard even sounding better than roland VA-7.
When you live near germany or the UK your lucky to spend a large amount of money (It hurts) and that is why i give an overal 9. this thing is verry expensive but worth the money
