Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use. Figured it out in about two minutes. Just four rocker buttons (like those on organs) for each tone generator, two rocker buttons for tremolo, and knobs to control the rest.

Features : 6
Full polyphony, weighted action. Built in tremolo and pitch knobs (can create chorus with these). Bass and Treble tone knobs, decay knobs to control decay for each generator.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
Very good EP in my opinion. It's certainly no Rhodes or Wurlitzer, but it also works completely different. This has no rods or reeds to go out of tune. It's a ciruit board. The tremolo sounds great and detuning with the pitch knobs creates a lot of creative options with the available sounds. Very responsive keys, best weighted I've felt. Piano 1 is similar to a Wurli sound, but more generic. Piano 2 is a little more percussive than Piano 1. Piano 3 is Clav. Harpsichord is a square wave that sounds horrible. All the voicings can be combined in various combinations for unique sounds. Very analog and it sounds great. Not a necessary board by any means, but if you're looking for an interesting addition, this is a cheap way to go.

Reliability : 10
I don't think I could destroy this by running it over with my father's truck. It seems indestructible in build with the most sensitive part being the jacks, but those are pretty tough too.

Haven't talked with Yamaha yet. Their products are good enough there really isn't a need.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I love my CP30. It's not necessary at all, but it makes a great complement to most songs. I've used it with rock, alternative, and also some electronic-based music (makes a good contrast!). If you're looking for a Rhodes or Wurli, get a Rhodes or Wurli. If you are looking for a different EP sound that is very warm, analog, and complementary, I recommend a CP30. The only disadvantage is weight, as this weighs about 120 lbs. Definitely a two person job.
