Ease of Use : 8
I have no clue what the software version is, but i think its an earlier model. I rate the ease of use at 10, because for what I use it for, its pretty simple. All I do with it is turn it on and put it on a bass setting. As easy as that. So, yah its pretty easy to use. I dont have a manual for it really, its the school's board. But i dont need. Pff its a beginners keyboard not a $600+ synth like i have at home, it doesnt have patch editing. You have to live with the patches it gives ya. But overall, id say for what i do with it, its easy.

Features : 7
Ill be honest, this is a beginner/student keyboard. I'm a step or two above that. But, again, for what i use it for, it has enough features. Its got a lot of tones, but really i only use about three or four. Sometimes i use the piano tone to entertain the other ban students with some Journey tunes while the band teacher is out of the room. hahaha. Anyway, im not sure what the polyphony is, but i have never run out. The keyboard action is alright, its pressure sensitive so i can work dynamics a bit. As i said, it pretty much lacks effects, expansion capabilities, etc. I Do use a sustain pedal with it, for vibraphone parts, and it works well with that. And like i said on the last issue, for what i use it for, it delivers.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 5
Ahhh the instruments are hit or miss. Mostly miss. The bass works pretty well, the piano is cheesy (I dont use the piano in performance anyway, just in the role i showed above. haha)and te vibraphone is also a bit cheesy, but oh well. By the way, if you haven't already picked up on it, im the keyboardist for a high school concert band. I play bass keys in play of a tuba as well as playing percussive parts (vibraphone, xylophone, bells, etc.) and for that purpose, i actually kind of wish that those tones were a bit better. Im actually thinking about asking my band director to use my personal keyboard (Roland Juno-D) for performances, because its tone qualities are far superior.

Reliability : 8
Well, as i said, its the school's instrument, but it has never let me down. Ive played it for a year and a quarter now, and it seems to still be ticking. And its a dinosaur, the things got to be about as old as I am (15-16 years), so im thinking its pretty reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
School board, never broke, no idea.

Overall Rating : 7
Pfff it were lost or stolen the school can deal with it. bwhahaha. Anyway, as i said, for the most part, for what i am doing, it does the job. Does it do the BEST job, no, but does it do it good enough? yes. It is a great beginner keyboard, and should be treated as such. A beginner board. Ive been playing keyboards since i was 7, got serious when i was 12, and now ive been playing with the concert band and jazz band at school for a year now, plus playing by myself and in a garage band. I also have played guitar for a couple years. Ive got A Roland Juno-D, as i mentioned, a Hammond XK-1, a microKorg, and a 6 and 12 string Stratocaster. This keyboard is a baby compared to these others. But, hey, it gets the job done, and its free, so what the heck.

Yes, the psr 330 is very easy to use, for recording songs, make sounds combinations. The manual's helpfull too and the presets are pretty.

Features : 8
31 polyphony. For the 90's keys the polyphony s good, it's have 8 sounds effect as pressets and they're easy to use. However, It isn't have any expansion configuration and the MIDI funtion are some limited..

Expressiveness/Sounds : 7
Te psr 330 is a personal keyboard, and its not specified to types of music, its have defaults sounds, but however its sounds are pretty, only the organs, pad and lead sounds are so-so good. The touch sistem works at perfection, it`s editable of 1 to 127 with 100 as preset

I'm playing keyboards at the age of 8, with this key's pal. Ten years with the PSR 330 tell me that keyboard's the best way to bebining in the world of key's knowledge:It was cheap, It was, or I mean, It's good and pretty. if it could have the pitch bender and a modulation wheels, The psr 330 could be perfect. Also I'm controlling this keyboard with the BEHRINGER's FCB1010 and The psr 330 converted more powerfull!!.Just imagine what can you do with de FCB1010 IN THE PSR 330....

I love everything about the keyboard , it took me a few years to get it all together but I use it all the time , every day at least 2 hours a day. My only complaint is that it only records on two demo spots.

Features : 10
The keyboard action is great.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
I use piano , alto sax , trumpet , strings and guitar and add others as I go along . Some sounds aren't perfect but if I wanted perfect I would have bought a piano. I have been playing since 4 yr of age and this keyboard is the favorite of all other than my piano I used to have.

Reliability : 10
I use it all the time on gigs and some with backup and some without

Customer Support : 8
No I haven't ever had it repaired but do want to get it cleaned

Overall Rating : 10
I own two guitars , a fiddle and my keyboard
If someone stole it I would be very lost without it. I love my keyboard and at my age I wouldn't want to be without it. I am 58.

Ease of Use : 9
Very simple to use. The manual explains everything clearly.

Features : 5
The action on the keys is awful. I am a pianist and these are some of the dogiest keys i have played. There are a few different reverb settings and a harmony button which is bad(It has a kind of midi delay thing which can be ok)
The onboard sequencer is good for very simple work but not for anything serious.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 2
On the whole keyboard there are perhaps 3 tones that are of acceptable quality and some of the rhythms are ok. The majority of the features on this keyboard are designed for amateurs.

Reliability : 9
This thing wont break! Its built like a fortress.

Customer Support : 3
I have not dealt with yamaha for any reason.

Overall Rating : 6
If this were stolen I would go and buy a better keyboard. It's great for beginners and it's what i first started sequencing on. If you dont want a serious piece of equipment then get this.

Ease of Use : 10
This is definately its strong point. It is a very basic and therfore simple keyboard to use. There's nothing confusing about it at all.

Features : 5
The polyphony is decent, 31 I think. It's built in effects are decent for the price but I would never use it for anything professional.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 5
The straight piano instruments are not bad but if you try much of anything else, it's pretty pathetic. It's is touch sensitive but not all that great. Some notes are unusually louder than others and it doesn't allow very soft playing.

Reliability : 10
I would and have used it on gigs with no backup. I've owned this keyboard for 6 years now and have never had any problems with functionality with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
If it was lost I definately would not buy it again. I've been playing piano for 13 years. It'd be nice to have the full 88 keys becuase when using this keyboard I often run out of keys.

I use Cakewalk Express and connecting PSR-330 via midi cabel, 126 panel voices are very good, 10 drum kits, 137 to 264 GM voices, it is GM sounding keyboard but its sounds much like XG's

Features : 4
there are harmony effects and revarb effects, it does have only cartrage slot, we need much good midi seq. software for sequencing, it's absolutly competibel with midi features,

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
guitar, trumpet, trobone & mute trumpet are very realistic, clasics and rock can be play good, onboard effect good, its sound not too good when we play auto accompaniment, u should turn off 1 of chord 1,chord 2, phrase 1 & 2

Ease of Use : 9

Reliability : No Opinion

Customer Support : No Opinion

Software version - I don't know what exactly you mean...
Quite easy to use. The manual is mostly straightforward, although some chapters really need improvements (MIDI section, for one!) because they are good only for those who don't need them... With a little experience with synthesizers you can almost do completely without a manual...
Presets: depends... Some sounds are realistic, some not (strings!) Accompanyment is mostly OK, although on the PSR-340 is better...

Features : 7
Poliphony is satisfying.
Keyboard pretty good, although "touch sensitivity" is somethimes driving me crazy (quite different than the "true" one on the e.g. piano) - after 2 and a half years I still didn't completely get used to it...
Reverb & harmony types: harmony OK, reverb types sound much the same...
Expansion only through the musical cartridge - the one you get with the instrument is pretty useles... (and I did't buy any other)
It has MIDI capability which I am now planing to try out.
The sequencer can not store very long songs, but for non-professional use good enough.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 7
See above.
For the non-professional keyboard isn't bad at all!
I can play most of the peaces that come to my mind.
Of course, more expensive models offer more...

Reliability : 10
In the two and a half years (since I bought it) it has never let me down...

Fortunately, I didn't need it...

Overall Rating : 9
The only thing I miss when I am away from home is my PSR!! I love it and I certainly do not intend to sell it! Of course, if it gets lost, certainly would I get a newer model, because I can get it for the same price I paid for this one 2 and a half years ago!
Greater choice of rhythms would certainly be helpful (no 6/8 rhythm at all!!!)
Buying it (or the next model from this series) for about $300 is definitely not a mistake! It's worth its price!

Ease of Use : 10
The Ease of Use is great. This thing is so easy to use. I would rate it a 10
because Everything is so easily accesible. The sounds are pretty good, but are excellent
for its price range.I have many keyboards like korg trinity/triton, Roland XP-80 etc.
but none of them are as easy to use as the YAMAHA Psr-330. It's just great.

Features : 9
The polyphony is excellent for its price range. It has 32 notes of polyphony.
The effects are good and again are easy to use. This keyboard has full midi
capibilities with touch sensitive, velocity, after touch etc.
It also has an onboard sequencer wich is great. You cant do the whole deal
on this sequencer, but`its good for practice sequences. Again the sequencer is very ease to use.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 9
The instruments really are realastic, and especially for its price range.
The piano is good, the acoustic guitar is great, and the drums are also pretty good.
It has great sounds for its price range. It works well for all types of music. The on-board effects are also excellent.
It also reacts to your playing, which is nice.

Reliability : 7
Yes I could probably depend on it. I dont know if I would use it on a gig
since it is not totally professional, But it is great for practicing
and writing/composing.

Customer Support : 10
I havent ever contacted the customer service but I am sure that they are nice.

Ease of Use : 8
The PSR-330 comes with a big LCD screen and plenty of buttons, so accessing features is generally straightforward. Some buttons serve multiple functions (depending on what mode you're in) that aren't immediately obvious. The manual is average, but the machine isn't very complex, so you could probably get by without it.

Features : 6
Max polyphony may be an issue if you're using this keyboard to create complete productions. You get some very simple reverbs and delays. Keyboard action is decent, but no aftertouch kind of sucks. The expansion slot isn't particularly useful; the PSR-340 comes with a floppy drive, which might be worth the extra money you'd have to pay. Other unfortunate omissions include pitch and mod wheels, as well as a line out. The sequencer is pretty simple; I use Cakewalk Pro Audio for any recording I do with this thing. It's got two 6W speakers (okay for personal use) and can run on batteries, which makes it pretty easy to set up and play anywhere.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 5
Standard GM sounds. Not bad for an instrument in its price range; it's pretty vanilla-sounding, but it'll do the job for getting ideas into the computer and maybe for live work (though you may want to use some external effects in the case of the latter, because the internal ones don't quite cut it). The rhythm presets are okayish for practicing and maybe sampling and chopping up, but tend to be on the cheesy side.

Reliability : 10
It's pretty heavy and is made of thick plastic. I've carted it around quite a lot over the past two years and have never had any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've had this keyboard since soon after it came out, and I've never had any reason to deal with Yamaha. I've heard they provide good support, but their product has rendered support unnecessary. <g>

Overall Rating : 6
This is an entry-level keyboard, but as far as they go, it's served me well. It worked okay for me for practicing my playing and controlling other gear, and I've even done a few gigs with it, but it's not going to be the centerpiece of anyone's studio. Still, they're fairly cheap these days, and since I can always use it to control other MIDI devices, it'll never be completely obsolete to me. A pitch wheel, a line out, and a MIDI Thru would be nice, but those were probably no included for cost reasons. If it were lost or stolen, I'd probably look to upgrade to something a little more professional sounding, but a keyboard of this type might make for a good introduction to MIDI, home practice unit, or backup axe.

Ease of Use : 8
Simply put, this is a very good board at a very good price. The presets are awesome for a one-method only synth, but pale slightly compared to Yamamha's higher-up boards. Acoustic instruments sound suprisingly real, with great guitars and organs. The synth presets are very weak, even though some sound pretty cool.
Editing patches is easy, bu it took me a while to get proficient enough to scroll through all the submenus. No patch editor as such, but very effiecent one by one parameter editing. The manual was tradtionally good, but the midi coverage was slightly vague. You have got to know about keyboards to use this one effieciently, although it is easy to just start playing it.

Features : 8
It sports 31-voice polyphony, which rivals quite a few higher-end synths, but it loses a lot of it with the accompianiment. Keyboard action is, well, spring-loaded at best with oversensitive touch-sensitivity. however, the board reacts(aftertouch) well, and it takes a lot to get your hands tired.

Built in effects live in two places: harmony and reverb. the reverb is excellent, but the 9 different choices sound pretty much the same, except for the delay effect. THe harmony is great for playing programs like violin and piano, and it give you instant triads on every note you play, making people think you are playing multipule notes! The harmony menu has quite a few options, some of which are good, others not so good. The psr330 can accept cards(music cartridge) which can expand the style pile a little. i haven't ordered any yet because the keyboard has a wide range of styles to choose from. midi is limited to in and out, but it can play any midi sequence with 16 tracks.
a very easy to use, easy to edit sequencer. i love sequencing my songs to record them. just one grip here. not enough memory. it can handle 4 tracks plus accompaniment, but not longer than 2 minutes or so. It lets you save 2 preset songs on RAM, but if you make a long song on one, then you won't have much space left for 2.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 8
As i said before, the keyboard has awesome acoustics for a keyboard. The organs are my favorite. Very expressive, but lacking touch-sensititvity that's worth anything hurts. no pitch or modulation wheel. one nice feature is an easy to use transpose, that lets you play on a different key instantly, and you just keep playing on the original key. velocity sens is very good, and handels my fast chord arpeggios well. No insert effects, but the are real-time insertable preset phrases that help out here and there. my favorite is applause!
this keyboard reacts big time with velocity sens. it just knows when you want to play soft and slow or loud and hard. otherwise, it's pretty static.

Reliability : 10
very reliable. it has performed flawlessly at the gigs i've played.
right now, it's one of 2 keyboards i play and i'm always taking it to gigs by itself.

Customer Support : 10
never needed it, but heard from a fellow PSR series player that yamaha was excellent to him, which i'm sure they are.

Overall Rating : 10
if it were lost or stolen, i would make a huge effort to retrive it, but i wouldn't buy another. i would move up to a higher-end PSR model.I've been playing since i was 5, and now i'm 15. I play with it in a band with my roland kc100 amp, and casio ctk-150 board. i love all of it except the pad-synth presets. I've compared it to $3000 synths, and it blowes them away. the korg triton pro sucks compared to the pianos and guitars on my lowly psr330. I will hold on to it for a while i'm sure. It helped write 18 songs, and never gets in the way. I only wish it had more RAM! for the sequencer.
If anyone reads this, please help me out. i need a nice synth with a sequenser and disk drive for under $1,400! Please help me out.

Ease of Use : 8
This synth is very easy to use, there's a big LCD display with buttons on the side and everything. The sounds are decent, but not spectacular, and there's no way to edit patches.

Features : 7
The polyphony is only 32, but it is decent. It also has a 5 track built-in sequencer, but it sucks. It comes with 8 different types of reverb (sounds good) and some chorus effects. It also accepts those Yamaha expansion cards that come with extra songs and rhythm styles. The multi-pads are a joke. While you can choose from 26 different styles, it rarely has what you need. You can also save presets in four different slots, which is a nice feature to have. No pitch-bend wheel, which pisses me off.

Expressiveness/Sounds : 7
The instruments are decent, but most of them aren't very realistic, especially the guitars. The synth is probably best for techno.

Reliability : 10
It hasn't broken down yet, very dependable, I'd gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing on and off and I can't say I hate it. If it were stolen, I'd go beat the shit out of the fucker who did it, not because I love my synth to death, but because it cost a lot of money. Otherwise, I wish it had a pitch-bend wheel.
