Reviewer Background :
I've been recording for about 10 years. Using cubase 4, with presonus firepod interface. Record bass, acoustic, electric guitar over loops or live drums. I've been a musician for 33 years. Use a Taylor mostly, plus mike Fender amps mostly using a tele or 335.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Very well built pencil condenser mic. Sound best a few inches away just an inch or so down the fretboard of the soundhole. I feel it's just as advertise. A good quality value mic. I was not disappointed with the results. Sounds better than an SM57 and seems to compete pretty well with the C1000s when miking an acoustic guitar. For singing it's clear and not muddy, but you cannot sing up close without overdriving the small diaphram (as with any small dia mic). However it seems to do quite well singing just over the top of the screen. Plenty of bottom and balance on the high side. For the money I doubt you can beat it.
