black, 48volt phantom powered, small diaphragm, fixed cardioid condenser with bass roll off switch.
Sounds very present on small percussion and drums, very crisp and clear on acoustic guitar and can be very good for a clear and present male vocal sound. A bit thin sounding for female vocalists with high pitched voices.
I have found the mic to be a bit noisy compared to most modern large diaphragm mics and the more expensive Audio Technicas and 4051 mics.
Specifications proove this as it's signal to noise specs place it around 6dB noisier than a lot of other modern mics and noisier than the Rode range of budget mics.
A good budget mic for hihat, snare bottoms, general percussion and bright stringed instruments but not so good for quiet things where maximum dynamic range is required.
My least used mic these days below the Shure SM57 but somehow I like it more.
