This is a dynamic mic ,polar patterns to the back of the mic.
The mic is strictly used for vocals.
It is a very heavy duty piece of equipment that stands up to the rigors of live and studio work extremely well.In our selection process we A'B'C'd the mic against a Shure SM-58,Sennheiser 835 and 845 mic.
The shure wasn't even close to the clarity and power of this mike, the 845 was comparable ,but more money and not as rugged and the Sennhieser 835 (a very good mic!)was just slighly off the mark on the gain end not that noticable really .
This mic is very consistent and a lead singer will love it's ability to "get over" the sound of the band without feeding back.
I highly recommend this mic for live and studio vocal work.
I sold all my Sm-58's on ebay and replaced them with this mic.
