I record to a digital multitrack (not on a computer), been recording to cassette every since I was 6 years old, and I'm 18 now. I usually listen through some old pioneer headphone direct out for my board.

This is a 'limited edition' dynamic mic. No one seems to know anything about it, but this thing rocks. One of the best dynamic mics I've ever used. It sounds incredible when micing guitar cabs (about 3 inches away from the best sounding speaker in the cab). Also does well with vocals. It has a really great, crisp, clear, reproduction. It falls short at just being a dynamic mic, even though it is a very good one. I would recommend this to others who come across one. Want to record great guitar tracks? Get one of these.

I've been playing guitar for over seven years and recording for about four. I got this mic from a buddy of mine, it used to be the only mic we used due to the fact that we were poor SOBs! We eventually added a Neumann to our arsenal for vocals, but I still use this mic for amps, accoustic guitar, anything, really. I've used a Roland DAW in the past, right now I've got a computer set up with Pro Tools LE, Acid Pro 4.0 and SOund Forge 6.0. I mix using a combination of near-field monitors and headphones.

This mic is a "special edition" mic, I have looked all over the place for another one because I like it so much but not many people know about it. Which makes me sad because if it ever dies on me I'll have to take the time to find a suitable replacement. It's a supercardiod mic, looks almost just like an SM58. It has an on/off switch too, which is handy. As I said before, I use it for micing instruments, mainly accoustic guitar and amps. It works well for live vocals as well. It has a nice, bright sound. I've tried using it for bass amps, but the bass response is not great and I like to go direct when recording bass anyway. The mids and highs, however, are very clear and crisp. I have a 4x12 set up and my guitar sounds beautiful if I place this just off axis and fairly close to the speaker, I usually have it about three inches away. I would reccomend this to anyone, as long as they can find one!
