Reviewer Background :
I've been recording at a home studio level for a few years and over that time my gear has progressed. I own a bunch of different mixers, preamps and microphones. I also own a Korg D888 which is another review in itself.

I use Alto 15a Elvis speakers in a live situation with one of two Behringer mixers that I have. In my home studio I use KRK Rokit 8 speakers.

I have mixed many live shows as well as a few studio projects. I've been able to use many microphones over the last few years as my collection grows to about 20.

Overall Rating : 8
The BOCK BK 5.8a is a dynamic microphone which does the job great live. I find it slightly clearer than my JTS NX8 model, but it doesn't have the same bass response as the JTS NX8. The NX8 is a fantastic mic too I've reviewed that also and has been my main live mic for years. This is very similar to a Beta 58 microphone and it does look very similar. This mic seems to focus more on them mids and the top end is very crisp.

The good thing about this mic is it does the job and I don't have to have my mouth pushed up against it all the way.

The cable it came with was kind of crappy but it was easy to replace, at least they put a cable in and it came with a clip and bag as all other mics in the world do.
