Reviewer Background
:
Playin the guitar since about 8 yrs old. hobbyest recorder. I have other mics such as SM57, e906, e902, some AKG's and a samson condensor. At the moment i am recording my band, in a make shift studio in the garrage. The gear we have is ok but as yet nothing is tracked up, everything is mixed on an old analogue mixer and then recorded (very tricky to get a good sound)on a laptop, but this is going to change soon. I also do many solo recordings at home.

obviously this is extreame budget mics, but myself, and every one else is suprised by the quality, mostly as the overheads are much better than you would expect. our kit is miced up only with 2 overhead condencors, and the kick mic, as the other dynamics are pretty poor, and we get a better sound without them. every thing can be heard clearly and sounds fairly true to the actual sound that is being produced. As an amator, it was very easy for us to set up the mics and get a good sound with out much eq changes, which for me is a good thing. The condencors are great value for money, and produce a sound that is definitly good enough to produce a budget demo, the kick mic does the job but is not as crisp as my senheiser e902, but it still is good enough to use,(i use the e902 to mic the bass cab). The other dynamics for me where a waste of time (to be honest i havent used them much), but more experienced people may be able to get a good sound out of them. This kit is worth it for the condencors alone, as i dont think you will find cheaper, if you are on a very tight budget to produce a demo then this may be you thing. if you are a pro or looking for a full set then maby look elsewhere as i dont think the dynamics are up to it.
