I have been making music my whole life. I started singing and playing guitar when I was 5 years old. I started recording using a four track when I was in elementary school. I currently record to logic with an old MOTU interface. I use my mackie for the microphone.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a fixed cardioid pattern condenser mic. I have used it on acoustic guitar, drums, vocals, piano, and percussion. I also have used it for recording nature soud fx. I have a few other mics sm57, sm58, sm81 (2). I got this mic online after a friend recommended it to me. I like the way it sounds and it is extreemly sensitive. I need to buy another, because I'm spending a lot more time recording parts separately since this mic sounds so good. I definately recommend it and it is a nice package with the shockmount and pop filter

I've been involved in music my whole life. Engineering for the last 16 years both in professional live sound production and in the studio. Worked on many multi-platinum recordings for many top producers. Multi-track analog to DASH recorders all the way to DSD and ProTools HD, Pyramix, Nuendo, etc. A few mastering credits. Genelec, Tannoy, Yamaha, etc.

Overall Rating : 10
The Gauge ECM-87 is a large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone hand-picked for its pleasingly flattering character. They're assembled in China but rigorously tested to provide what has become the best microphone to come at a price point few can ignore.
I've used this microphone on numerous stages and recording studios for the last few weeks and it doesn't stop being useful. They take sound pressure really well, and are very quiet. I discovered a secret while inspecting the insides, and found a High-Pass filter switch. -6 dB @ 100Hz ! Sweet!!! I said. I can't think why they wouldn't say anything, but who cares?? once again, beautifully handy!!

GOOOOO GADGET GOOOOOOOO!!!
