Reviewer Background :
Been doing this stuff a billion years or so. Had so much gear come and go that it's embarassing.

I'm n ew to world of wireless, however.

Overall Rating : 10
Wireless dynamic mic. Bought as backup for vocalist with my jazz group (www.blacklabtrio.com). Usually hand it to folks who want to make announcements, so that way I don't have to worry about them dropping our vocalist's Shure SLX transmitter with a Beta 87a capsule.

This thing is absolutely amazing for $100-120. We (my vocalist and I) took this into Banjo Center and A/B'd it with $400+ Wireless systems from Audix, and Sennheiser and Shure. The Shure PGX wireless with a SM58 was the only one that matched it for the quality and clarity, and the Shure ULX/SLX with a Beta 87a capsule was the only one that surpassed it.

It actually sounded much better than the Shure Wireless Beta 58 system; Sennheiser G2 system; and some kind of Audix wireless system (horrible sound!)

Unlike Shure who wants $100 just for a case, this mic not only sounds great for our vocalist, but came with a nice hardshell case. We never get dropouts with it, and 64 hi-uhf band (700-800 Mhz area) channels for this price is amazing.

Also, unlike, say, Shure's UHF mics, it not only came with rechargeable batteries, but you can charge them up by simply running a small charger cable (included) to the receiver; or, if they run out, you can use good old-fashioned AA batteries.

We can run the receiver in my basement behind the cement foundation and take the capsule to the other side of the backyard -- about 100 feet plus through a cement wall, and it sounds as good as if you're standing 6 feet away from the receiver.

The S/N noise ratio is good enough that I can back the squelch off completely without problems.

I can't recommend this deal highly enough, at least as far as my limited experience should allow me to recommend it. If you want a good wireless mic for live performane, with multiple channels, but don't have $350-700 to blow, get this one. And what's truly amazing is that there are >$400 wireless sets that don't even measure up to this $100 one.
