I've been making music for over 20 years and have spent about 10 of that as a producer/recording engineer. Several years of that time was also spent as a tech at a large New York City recording studio which houses Neve 8078 consoles, Studer A800 machines, and just about every vintage mic you could ever want including tons of Neumann, AKG, Sony, Schoepps, Coles, Beyer, EV, and more. Currently I have a portable rig consisting of a homebuilt P4 PC (XP-Pro), Digidesign Digi002r, Presonus DigimaxFS, Waves Diamond and IR-1, McDSP (Filterbank, MC2000, Analog Channel, Channel G, and all of their LE plugins), and monitoring through a JBL LSR4326Pak.

GrooveTubes Convertible (true condenser, cardioid).
I have used this mic both as a live and studio vocal mic as well as on acoustic guitars and as drum overheads (I have a pair). Honestly, these make for a pretty darned good pair of drum overheads as they give a very good and accurate picture of the kit. As a live vocal mic, it's a great value but it's a little dark and flat when compared to something like an EV RE410. It's my gut feeling that maybe the windscreen is the culprit here. They sound good live, but you'll need to take care to really ring them out in the monitors ahead of time for the gig. Otherwise, there is pretty much a guarantee of feedback... as with any condenser.
For the money, it's pretty stupid simple - get some. They are a true condenser, at that! Like I said, great OH sound with the windscreen off. Basically, after using these, Groove Tubes' most modest offerings, I can't wait to get a hold of the rest of their line.

Groove Tube Convertable
Works well as a stage vocal microphone and gives a real "studio" sound to vocals. Works best with ear monitors in a live setting, is too sensitive for a stage with loud monitors or stage volume. Nice for acoustic bands. Works well as an instrument microphone, (ie: overheads, acoustic guitar, 2nd mic for stereo recording).
The removeable wind screen is not a gimmick. Works like it's supposed to, on for vocals, off for instrument miking.

very light condenser instrumental mic 3|4 inch diaphragm ,can be converted into a vocal mic adding his own windscreen.
perfect if you can bring or buy only one mic (exemple a very light traveller environement or your first experience)
the performance is absolutely respectable even comparing to the begger majors mics no compromises
DEFINITELY IS A REAL GROOVE TUBES PRODUCT....
