I got this mic from Anthem Guitars & Music on ebay and the dude even gave me a free mic cable!! The PR35 mic is perfect for recording acoustic guitars! Forget condensers or ribbon mics! The PR35 sounds better and is more durable! I use two of them in the ORTF setup and it is the best and most natural acoustic guitar sound I've ever heard!! This mic also sounds great on guitar amps and vocals!! Made in the USA for only $250.00!! Forget all the musician's friends adds I got my PR35's from Anthem Guitars and Music on ebay and they were friendly and had great service and included over $20 worth of cables!!

I've been recording for about 7 years and playing for almost 30. I am recording on a Dell with a Presonus Firebox and ART Preamp. I have tried Rode mics (K2, NT1a, NT4 & NT5) and Audio Technica AT4047 & several mid level AT small diaphragm condensors and I have found the Heil Sound PR35 to give much better results on vocals and acoustic guitar. I haven't tried them yet on a guitar amp but I've heard the PR35 is the absolute best mic available for micing amps.

The PR35 is a dynamic mic with a cardioid pattern. I use it for vocals and acoustic guitar and like I said earlier, it outperforms several much more expensive condenser mics!! My favorite aspects of the mic are that it really does sound like an expensive ribbon mic yet is in a super durable design. I love the 3 position roll off switch. I can put this thing right up close to my acoustic guitar and not get any unwanted proximity effect! It actually sounds great on Harmonica too.
