Reviewer Background :
I have been playing drums since i was about 7 and I've been into recording for about three years now, in college studying sound engineering at the moment. i'm currently running Sonar 6 Producer edition on a pretty high spec PC and I'm monitoring through a set of Tannoy Reveal 5A's

Overall Rating : 7
The JM47 is a Large Diaphram Condenser mic with a Cardoid only polar-pattern. I bought this mic as my first vocal mic as i had a very limited budget but as it turns out I've used it on pretty much everything(including a bass drum) ok so its cheap and yes it doesnt sound like a neumann but it is an incredibly reliable mic that can make a very decent job of recording just about anything.

My main criticism is that this mic can sound extremely harsh at times but this is nothing that cant be fixed in your everyday daw. If i did not own this mic i would say id quite happily pay about ???225 for it, the fact that i got it for ???130 im delighted about!!

i would recommend this mic to anyone who's looking for a good all round mic on a limited budget....you can't really go too far wrong with this one!!
