Reviewer Background
:
Haven't had this mic all that long. Saw that there was no reviews either so I thought I would contribute one. I have only been recording for a year now. I have been a musician for 8 years though (I'm 23). I use this mic going into a tube pre into a omega into a powerbook g4 running cubase sl3.

As a cheap condenser mic this thing is really quite good. I strongly recomend a decent mic pre though. It is a cardioid condenser so it needs phantom power wich is not a probem as most boards/pres have it. At the time I also considered a 990 but decided to go with this mic due to a friend recomendation. My favorite aspects of the mic is how well it pics up everything (and I mean everything). It's only curse is the crap shock mount as it pretty much does nothing (same mount as most mxl mics have including the 990) but hold the mic in place. I think everall it's a great starter mic, but I would go with a rode nt-2 if you have the money to do so.
